Hey Ken, thanks so much for watching our videos, we appreciate your support. The relief carving is one that l had wanted to do since l was a kid. It’s a sugaring scene from the old days, tapping maple trees to boil the sap. So l got an evaporator to do the same and felt inspired to do that scene

Hey Sheepdog9, it is a thought that the concept of Netsuke actually originated in Europe and was introduced to Japan in the early 1600’s so rock on!

hey bought a horn at indiginous craft store and wanna carve it, your advice is marvulous btw... I just find it hard to find the 'next video really. you should give classes!

Hey Eva, thanks for checking us out !! We really are just getting started and looking forward to doing a ton more stuff. Horn is fun to work with,a bit fibrous so you have to cut with the grain to get the smoothest finish. I has such depth. If you’re going to scrimshaw it l would recommend a sharp knife rather than a scribe. The knife will cut clean lines in horn where a scribe will rip though the fibers and leave very rough scratches. Let us know it’s going okay?
