My preschool kids would LOVE to have any donated pumpkins/squashes when you have some ready this year!

Hello from southern Louisiana. Only thing growing here is my okra, corn, peppers and sunflowers. Lovely video.

You're so informative I appreciate it. Question, where do you store your winter squash that it has lasted this long? Thank you!
@SowArizona4 ай бұрын
I'm happy you found it helpful! I store my squash in a closet in my house. This closet is in the center of the house, so it stays much cooler in there. Storage times differ between squash varieties, too.

My god... 🥵🥵🥵I want a monsoon garden ✨😫✨ btw, the subtitling is a bit of a joke - patios (petals) and kelpies (cowpeas) etcetc. Artificial intelligence is truly artificial lol 😫

May I ask what a monsoon garden is?? 😊
@SowArizona4 ай бұрын
In Southern Arizona, we get a monsoon season that lasts from late June through September. During this time, we get monsoon storms that bring a lot of moisture to all of us hot and thirsty desert dwellers. During this time, we can plant many of the summer veggies in the garden all over again.

Where would we buy seeds for fall planting here in Tucson?
@SowArizona4 ай бұрын
You can order from Native Seed Search online and pick them up from their location. They offer a lot of great native and adapted varieties.

I could not get okra to grow to save my life. The plants would get a couple inches tall and just die off. I gave up.
@SowArizona3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that! Okra likes the heat, so make sure you plant it when it is hot. I plant my okra and then a few weeks later I add cowpeas under it to keep the soil moist. It seems to work well. Maybe try again with a different variety.
