I do find your channel overall, your cooking, and as you say “pretty things”, etc calming actually...especially lately. Ironically I think it helps with my own anxiety and thoughts regarding the heaviness of this fallen world. That being said, I do think your more traditional content is very valuable. So many people lack life skills, and I think we are really going to need those in the days ahead. Yes! My husband and I started waking at 3:00am in the morning two weeks ago knowing God wanted us to pray🩷 We are feeling the grief as well. Keep going with what you are doing and what you love to do. Preparedness is critical. Thank you for sharing the Lord and scripture verses in your videos.🙏🏼

I live in Weaverville, NC, and wow it is about being prepared. We were extremely blessed during the past couple of weeks. So, I think it is important to be prepared. I was grateful I had canned beans and grew a garden. We were able to eat without having to go to the store. That was a big deal. I definitely want to learn to make bread. I think that is what I really need to work on as well. Keeping clean water for accessibility. I personally want to learn how to tap into our well with a hand crank(?) When we did get the internet back it is calming to watch your videos!

May I share with you that my prayer path is becoming a search for how I can contribute a bit down the road with giving practical gifts to restore a measure of beauty to homemakers & families after such devastation.. This is going to take years to recover from and I don't want to lose sight of the ongoing needs. It helps me to think ahead as a kind of protection against being overwhelmed with grief at the thought of such incredible loss.

I find myself buying even more supplies than usual so that food if nothing else can help us maintain. Kelsey, thank you. I watch you on our television under my husband's name and don't usually comment. I had too today. I have been watching you now for a year or more and was surprised by your last video, but thankful for it. I too have had this feeling that things are not as they should be and my heart is heavy. Please continue to listen to where God is leading you and know that you are making a difference and I appreciate you. I am a mother of four grown children and three beautiful grandchildren. I am concerned because I believe we are in a spiritual war and things just don't feel right. I too have been trying to prepare both spiritually and materially. As a mother of three, herbalist, homesteader and writer I have learned two things. 1. Family comes first over everything else, and 2. be mindful of your own mental health. Self care is very important both for yourself but also to teach your children that it’s important to just sit down and breathe. We live in a time when it’s easy to get overwhelmed with stress over what needs to be done and what’s going on in the world. I start my day with praying, meditating and yoga, and have done that for many years. My kids sometimes do it with me, but they are adults now, so focusing on college and prepping for moving out. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and find a good balance between you kids and work.

Im gf,have auto immune thyroid disease and colitis but I press on. I have to use water filter when we go out of town. I am use to taking extra water when out for afternoon or long travels. I am reading a lot on how to do things better,grow more vegetables and stock our pantry. Keep learning and carry on. Blessed to know you

I was pleasantly surprised to see that you posted today. It is always a joy to see what’s new on the Seed and Sparrow Homestead. I have to say that when you sat down in the rocking chair I thought it looked like you were rocking a chicken much like a child lol🤣 Both the adorable chicken and other pillow are clever ways to use old quilts. I have a ‘tattered’ quilt that was my grandma’s and as I recall it was passed down to her from someone else in her family. I have no idea of its age but I know it’s been around for a long time. I would love to reuse it in a special way. Do you know if Heather has a website that she sells from as well as selling in person as a vendor? My heart has been heavy over the devastating destruction of the hurricane. Knowing another is on its way is overwhelming to think about. Although we do not experience hurricanes in the PNW, we do, like everywhere, have our fare share of storms and other things to consider and be prepared for. It’s good to be reminded to stay focused on being prepared for emergencies of all sorts and sizes. Anytime you move in a direction that you believe the Lord is directing you, there will be blessings, sometimes for you and sometimes for others. You may never know who needed to hear what you’re sharing whether how to garden or preserve or cook or prepare! You precious one, are planting ‘seeds’ into the lives that the Lord has put in your path and He will provide cultivation and eventual harvest in his time. I hope your time at HOA is a time of renewal and encouragement for you and Matt. I pray you leave with your cup filled up! I wish I could be there to give you a hug and to thank you in person for the encouragement you’ve been in this Grammies life. I would loved to have gone to the HOA, a close friend is going. She’s going to fill me in on all the good stuff. Hopefully next year, when hubby is able to take some time off work we can go! I feel you friend, my heart goes out to those that have been affected by the hurricane. I have felt a strong urge to help. God willing within a week husband and I can head out with supplies. Right now we are dropping off supplies to our 4H group that are headed to towns that border TN and NC. ❤ keep praying friends 🙏

Thank you for sharing. I just happened across you this morning and you were talking about feeling heavy hearted about what is going on in the country. I think you may have been talking about the political scene. But you said you felt so bad that you personally couldn’t do anything about it and of course now with the hurricanes, that is what has gotten me down. We are safe and we happen to be on vacation. I felt sort of guilty for enjoying myself when others are suffering so much. I have been praying about it and saw your video and you said you asked our Lord to take care it things. It helped me so much so thank you again for putting yourself out there and you gave me comfort. Keep doing what you are doing and I hope you get some good sleep soon and that your son doesn’t have anymore nightmares. My grandson went through a period of time where he had a lot of nightmares. Then I guess he outgrew them.

I know i start to feel guilty for being happy sometimes. Theres a heaviness on all our hearts for those that are struggling. We just have to continue on and prepare our homes. We may be the next ones that are prepared and will be called upon to help others.

I’m pre diabetic and recently diagnosed with Hashimotos along with being hypothyroid. Also am insulin resistant. I’m trying to navigate that. It’s hard. My heart is utterly broken and at times (many times) I feel completely...hopeless about the devastation & tremendous losses from the storms. However, I am reminded that I mustn't *continue* to carry burdens once I pray & lay them at His feet. We aren't created to keep hold of them. 1 Peter 5:7 helps to seal that truth to my heart & mind. "Casting the [whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, [once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you [watchfully]." You have such a tender heart for those whom He loves, sister. You are a blessing to Him....and me ❤️

Humans are soooo much more resilient and strong than our society likes to paint them as! As with any situation, you have to two choices. You can lay down and give up, allow yourself to be overwhelmed and overcome OR you can hold your head high and keep it moving forward. I learned to choose the latter because if you allow your emotions to control your thinking instead of informing them, your judgement becomes severely clouded. PLEASE DON’T CHANGE YOUR CONTENT!! You’re not realizing how in times of strife how showing calming and “normal” life is more important than preparedness.

The thing is, some of us are a lot more sensitive to upsetting things like what is happening these days. It’s ok to be moved by tragedy and loss, you are a beautiful, sensitive person, Kelsey.
