@dankalisz32354 жыл бұрын
@Acer Acres My Poor Olga was a rescue from another farm where she was not treated that well. I got her at 2 yrs of age when I was a kid.. She was afraid of trucks and tractors and yet did not want to be alone when I was at work or when I was at school. So she would climb up in the cab and at first sit in the buddy seat then lean against me and then try to get into my lap to be cuddled and to protect me from the nasty tractor...in the house God help me if there was a thunder/lightening storm.. Under the covers on the bed in a heart beat and if I wasn't there she would swarm my Mom and lay on her on the couch...

It's hard not to make fun of the imperial system when you see somebody who uses it a lot struggle to convert from one unit to another. @HowFarmsWork4 жыл бұрын
You could plant soybeans with it if you wanted! We use the corn planter which is a lot faster
@lukestrawwalker4 жыл бұрын
No not the right kind of meters for singulating and planting corn seed. Plus the row spacing are wrong (well, unless you turned off 3 and then left one open all the way across) to get 30 inch rows. Plus it's only 10 feet wide so *maybe* you'd get 3-4 rows out of it... Corn needs to be planted ONE SEED AT A TIME, VERY PRECISELY SPACED OUT and at a CONSISTENT DEPTH AS POSSIBLE... A drill like this is meant to seed crops not sensitive to spacing and are planted at very high seeding rates, corn is the opposite of both of these factors. Later! OL J R :)

It's one of the sizes Kuhn makes. It's actually serial number 1 and it's the drill Kuhn was talking to farm shows last year. Now their using it for field demos. Besides for the amount they seed they really don't need anything bigger.
@TheGhostOfLuciasClay4 жыл бұрын
@Acer Acres I believe Travis is the one that said drills are a controlled dump and they prefer the accuracy of the planter better and with the wider rows there is less problems with white mold. Also companies only demo certain equipment and sizes or else everyone would be trying 9rs and 60+ ft drills or 36 row planters. You get what's available and then purchase the size you need.
