Get a small "Barn Broom" or push broom would be a suggestion for getting a different broom that should work well for pushing the seed and minerals around.

Been noticing when you film the drill from the cab and turn the camera depending on the angle one of the main frame tires will look larger then the other. Just a weird thing to notice. Keep up the videos!

Only advantage I see is maybe on headlands? Back the drill into a corner if you want to seed every piece of land. Other than that, I think it makes way more sense how mike has it so you can keep eye on everything.

Since you bought a tractor to leave down there you should buy a different drill to leave down like a morris seed master or seed hawk and do a comparison

Often wondered that too… on a rig like that weight isn’t an issue, and cost is just a rounding error on the invoice. LoL

You've probably answered this before but how many gpm is that john deere doing? we just bought a 3320 to Upgrade our 5710, dealer has a 9630 coming in but not sure if the 78gpm pump on it will be enough

It's the the 115gal or so.. We pull a 84ft 12in space, mid row banders and a 950 cart with the 560rt Deere and it only has 78gal and it does it.. I guess it depends too how much product you are putting down

@@mikemitchell2554 I had 345 acres of reds in for 2019 and I harvested 45 of those acres at feed grade. All 300 acres of the rest were flooded and hailed out. Father in law had a pile of acres that were crop insurance claims that year too.

In the 1960’s Mike Nelson in the famous SEAHUNT series taught me everything about the Ocean. 50 years later another great Mike is teaching me everything about farming broadacre fields. The real person, Lloyd Bridges was a legend. Mike and Ashtyn are cut from the same cloth. If you have never watched a Seahunt episode then I highly recommend it. A wonderful early television series.

Hey Mike, "I got a question".....Why wouldn't you just go ahead and buy a quad track to use up there in "Red" country when you're with the inlaws...........is it because the green was a better deal or mayyyybe, you just wanted that competition.........just curious???? lol

,would it be possible to put a small vibrator like sand trucks use on that saddle tank. they make air, electric, and hydraulic ones. and youve got all of them right on cart.

Would be interesting to know how you seed in terms of the runs? Do you skip one line all the way to the other side and then skip one again all the way to where you started? Do you do headlands first or last?

Mike - What's the pipe coming out of the nodulator that goes up the side of the cart? If it's a vent, how's that work if it's under pressure?

It’s near his wifes family and lets him run more land because they seed later further north.

Mike - Sorry if this has been discussed before. Why are the treads on your player units opposite of what is typically used (like your tractor for example).

Check the last video or maybe a video before that, he talks exactly about this. It's for compaction reasons becuse on the tractor, wheels are driven, while in the back, the wheels are pulled and due to that forces act differently.

Morning Mike .... hope all is well! Seeding lentils in that part of the province is beyond risky. Just hope the neighbours don’t start “trying” a few acres we don’t need anymore acres grown 😄. All the best for you though. How are things back home? Have you been getting moisture? This heat coming isn’t going to be good. Thankfully we got a 5 inch rain two wks ago, it drowned out some spots but happy now it rained considering others didn’t get much. Couple friends an hr west of me said their crops will be done after this heat ... sad situation. Take care!

I know it is! It really only works because I have the ability to mix them off from back home haha.. Also our crops are just about done.. I have been posting a lot pictures and the durum is dieing in the boot..
