Seeds to Start Indoors in January | PNW Zone 8b

Hi Friends, Happy New Year! January is upon us and gardeners we are always looking to start seeds. The good news is that there are seeds to start in January, though the list is not as long as other spring months.
Starting seeds indoors is an excellent way to jump start the spring garden. I understand that not everyone has a setup for starting seeds indoors or not everyone has the space or time. But for those who love to start seeds, you can start filling up those shelves or window sills with some lettuce or peas (or a few others).

In the PNW, especially the Puget sound, the weather changes daily... Felt like late summer all the way to November this year then instantly switched to hard winter in just a few days.

You weren't kidding about last year's weather! June really did a number on my heat-loving stuff. Thanks for the tip about Fava beans - I didn't know that. I've got a lot of seeds this year to try!

Good timing, I'm itching to start seeds but pretty hesitant after last years spring and losing so many starts to all the rain we had forever!

I got my spinach from johnny seeds, and it’s my first year growing it. all of them sprouted at the same time, either it’s a good spinach or I got lucky 😂
