god damn, dude. Feels like everytime I wonder if I should be spending money for plugins like serum I come across another tutorial that reminds me how I‘ve not even scraped the top of what‘s possible with stock ableton alone. Thanks for the inspiration!

Same here, totally agree. This video opened my eyes again...
@rickf63754 жыл бұрын
Ableton's stock plugins offer so much, Max for live adds another dimension of possibilities and most of the time you're better off perfecting your workflow with what you have on hand rather than spending money on new plugins. And then at a certain point I'd probably invest in plugins that have a coloring effect such as the teletronix la-2a compressor you can use for group processing
@giln46892 жыл бұрын
its cool to have the majors. serum, sylenth, omni, etc. and some samples. but making shit with the stock plugins is whats really gonna give u ur own sounds and techniques.

I discovered this by myself after spending 2.5 hours on Wavetable and "User" section was at the last section and I became extremely excited for the possibility to insert samples, then I recorded my voice and create banging sounds then I researched on youtube to see how many ppl know and talk about this, and I found this vid and this guy directly starts with his own voice recording hahahah. But anyway I'm catching, 3 years ago, when he uploaded this vid, I was not a free person.

Note for Tip #1 you need to record your audio as AIFF filetype... it won't work with a WAV filetype. You can change this under the Record, Warp, Launch tab of preferences

Honestly it's a bit overwhelming. Started producing about 6 months ago and just now tipping my toes to sound synthesis and design and god damn. After this I don't understand what do people use Serum for, how is it better? I mean the serum effects seem cool but there are so many insane things that you can do with ableton stock effects that I really don't get why pay for it.

11.40 onwards is pure CLASS. . Mapping those specific controls, Loop Decay ENV 2 & Amount of LFO, to a midi controller is feeling mighty tempting. Could be too hard to handle, but I reckon a few nuggets will pop up. Have the tape rolling & delete the shite afterwards. As always with you, the delivery is sharp as diamonds. Careful conveyance compacts the complex. You are a bit of legend sir....

@GenteelCretin4 жыл бұрын
I think it was added in the 10.1 update. I don't know why Ableton didn't hold off on releasing Wavetable so that the feature was included on release; it's such a huge deal that one would assume they'd want to highlight it, especially because the initial release was mired by people complaining that it wasn't Serum.

OK, so this was insane. Just started looking at the wavetable like yesterday, and I had no idea how crazy this shit is. Any chance you could explain me the difference between Ableton Live's Wavetable and Serum, except for the obvious built in effects and UI of Serum. For some reason people say Serum is better in some ways, but after this I just don't understand how.

How can I record my voice into Ableton? Do I need a specific hardware card and a mic?
@zunicc4 жыл бұрын
Hey great tutorial, like always, thank you! :) I have one problem that I am encountering - I would get error message in status bar like "Cannot load table 'file_name' 'file_path'" when I drag any recorded audio into Wavetable. I am sorry that I cannot paste whole message - but unfortunately because of it's length I can't see it in full width... :/ Has anyone had this problem? I am using Ableton Trial and tried to change audio rec file type just to see if this would solve anything. I also couldn't find any information relating this subject online.
@alexchavosaurus90414 жыл бұрын
If you go to Options > Preferences and open up the "Record/Warp/Launch" tab, under Record, you have to change the file type to AIFF, rerecord your audio and Voila. Hope that helps. Cheers.
