In an era when very many people got very deep into it, no one got more deep into it than Seefeel’s bass player.

The story behind this gig is absolutely insane, there is more context to the mystery of Daren Seymour's onstage presence than anyone would believe.... it was part of an apparently disastrous festival called Britronica which was held in Moscow in 1994, dig around online for some info, there's an article Mark Pritchard wrote for RBMA and also a transcribed NME article from the time floating around somewhere. It is laugh out loud tragicomedy, trust me!!!

One of the best-loved ‘90s supergroups captured on their Smash Perestroika tour: Flea on bass, Andy Murray on E-Bow guitar, Diana Krall on crooning, and Ray Liotta on drums.

It's a fender musicmaster. Don't get too hung up on makes though (unless you like how they look). The string itself and the plucking style, and where the pickup is along the string, are prob the biggest factors in bass sound.

try listening to the record, it's actually an amazing song; it's a lot more like ethereal indie wall of sound meets ambient UK techno than indie, so expect repetition with subtle variations and a spacey but evocative atmosphere; the apparent lack of structure is actually structured
