Seeing an 88-Year Old White Castle Building Before it’s Torn Down | White Castle in Whiting, Indiana

I grew up on 119th and White Castle was my second home! My dad owned a shoe store next to the HOOSIER AUDITORIUM THEATER. I left Whiting after graduating Whiting High in '75, but will forever remember my beloved sliders! Thanks for the memories...oh and I probably knew your grandparents?

Thank you so much for watching! My grandparents were the Whiting HS class of ‘49 or ‘50. My parents graduated from HS in the 70s, but they went to Morton and Clark. I should add, my grandpa told me a story of when he attended a Whiting HS football game in the 1990s and members of the football team came out at halftime to perform in the band while in their full pads 😂

Lived in Whiting (Robertsdale) in the sixties and early seventies. Went to Clark and graduated from Hammond Tech in '73. Went to that White Castle more times than I can remember. Had a classmate who lived in the Illiana apartments just across Indianapolis Blvd. Haven't seen the area since around '78. Brings back a lot of good memories. Thanks brother.

So glad you enjoyed the video. My grandfather was a lifelong resident who was born in Whiting and died in Whiting. That White Castle was his hangout as a teenager and then as a continual place to eat when he got older.

wow this is my childhood town! lived here from ages 1 up to 12! I thought the White Castle in the thumbnail looked oddly familiar! 😁

Thank you Brian! It’s always nice to hear from you. I’m trying to visit all 50 states, so Big Sky Country is definitely on the docket. And yes, Stonie is an absolute beast. He’s the only person to unseat Joey Chestnut at Nathan’s.

I'm pretty sure that's the first White Castle I ever had. Probably in the 70s.
