I was watching this last night and the things that Chelsea and David talked about made me feel better about myself. I myself was born with Cerebral Palsy and I'm the only one in my family that has it. Growing up with Cerebral Palsy was one of the most challenging parts of my life. I hated myself and asked why I deserved to have CP. I was made fun of, started at, people ask why I walk like that? and even girls don't like me. After seeing different orthopedic doctors, x rays, MRI and two surgeries later, I became to accept myself. I like what David said, "If I can do it, so can you." I also like what Chelsea said, "Keep trucking". I agree what she said on how people don't understand what CP is and people should understand what the condition of CP. I do enjoy meeting people who has CP especially motivators just like Nicolas Hamilton, David and Chelsea Bear. I do enjoy watching David's podcast.

Great conversation...thank you! I'm like you...hemi-right side and I've also found that self-deprecating humor allows all those involved to lighten up. I don't know about you, but my most frustrating part of being a mild hemi is the mirrored movement aspect of it. You know...where the abled side wants to do exactly what the disabled side is trying to do during PT or any other articulate activity. I also have about 25 years on you two, so there's the "CP aging thing" going on here as well. Luckily, I've stayed super active via bicycling and cannot say enough about how this sport/activity has helped with my agility and spasticity. In fact, after working for almost 20 years in auto and aerospace after getting my degree, I semi-retired...because of said "CP aging thing"...and went back to work part-time in a local bike shop (I worked at one while in college). I love getting folks on bikes, rather it be repairing their broken one or selling them a new one. Again, Thanks for spreading awareness. As a collective, we need to "bully" our nation's health insurance industry to cover more specialized orthopedic surgeries, procedures, and equipment. It's really a shame when others in other countries are getting the care they need to live more comfortably and be more active and we have to start GoFundMe accounts to get the same.

I'm a big fan of biking myself as a former 3 time state champion in the sport. Kudos to you for not letting your disability get in the way of your goals. I'm a right hemi! I do agree with you on the medical aspect of things it definitely needs to be improved! Thanks for sharing Charlie!

Hey David and Chelsea! I think what you guys are doing is wonderful. I have listened to a few of of you segments david and It helps me realize that I'm not alone in these challenges. You guys are helping to educate people which we need more of.
