Hi Kat! Before I even watch the video, I want to tell you that ITW just got announced as my High School's musical for this year! I've been waiting to do it forever, and I'm really excited. There's not that many guys in my theatre group, and it's my junior year, so there's a good chance of me getting a decent role, and I'm so stoked!!!

This reminds me a lot of the Muny in St. Louis! They produce seven musicals every summer and they are always fantastic! Each show gets about two weeks (maybe less, I think) to rehearse and they never disappoint. I hardly ever find weak spots in their performances. It's insane how much talent and hard work it takes to do that, just like you talk about here with the Hollywood Bowl!

I saw this show the night after you did and honestly so many of the mistakes that I heard about from that night were completely fixed. It was a stunning performance and Sutton Foster put so much energy and life into the Baker's Wife. The best fit for that character since Joanna Gleeson. Honestly an honor to watch that performance.

I don't know why there was so little mention of Sutton Foster in reviews. Baker's Wife is just so underrated, in general. I was a little surprised by the casting, because she's not who I would think of when I think of the role, but she hit this one out of the park. She makes such clear and specific choices, especially in that song about moments in the woods, when some others might have just sung some of the words in a thrown away fashion... it was the kind of stream of thought words that Sondheim is prone to, after all! I think she's just become my favorite Baker's Wife! I saw the same night, btw. Not sure why the projection stuff was so out of sync. The cast was fantastic, though. Usually there would be more stunt casting (as in, movie and TV stars that hasn't done much musical theater). This one is anchored by a bunch of performers that have some serious musical theater credits, though. Maybe it's because Sondheim is hard.

I loved this! and yes the show was fantastic! I'm also so grateful I was able to meet you and say hi for a bit at intermission(hi that was me in the yellow). I do agree that another week of rehearsal would have made it perfect. I didn't notice most of the mistakes, but the unsynched audio-visual was an obvious issue throughout. However, overall a wonderful show with an absolutely killer cast.
