Especially moving hearing how much it meant to Rebecca that Jesus healed the woman who had been bleeding for 12 yrs, that He called her daughter. It's astonishing to me Jesus did this in a culture where people were repulsed by "unclean" blood and now some 2000 yrs later, I can take menstrual blood for granted and even celebrate that it was created by God to nourish the baby growing inside me.

Great. Parallels to this that I am reading. "Jesus through Middle Eastern Eyes" is a book that provides an in-depth examination of the life and teachings of Jesus from a Middle Eastern cultural and historical perspective. The author, Kenneth Bailey, explores the cultural and social context in which Jesus lived and taught, providing a fresh and illuminating view of the stories and teachings of Jesus. The book focuses on the significance of the parables and miracles of Jesus and how they were understood by the people of his time. It also examines the cultural, religious and political context of first-century Palestine and how it influenced the way Jesus' teachings were received. The author argues that understanding the cultural background of Jesus and the Middle Eastern context of his teachings is crucial for understanding the true message of Jesus and the gospel. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the cultural context in order to avoid imposing Western cultural biases on the text and to gain a deeper appreciation of the meaning and impact of Jesus' teachings. In conclusion, "Jesus through Middle Eastern Eyes" provides a rich and insightful look at the life and teachings of Jesus from a fresh perspective, offering readers a new and deeper understanding of the gospel.

Where does it say JESUS had a wife?
@julieamos86 Жыл бұрын
The bible doesn't say he did. He was not married. We the church are his bride. Why do you ask?

@@komatarikinala66 Jesus is currently betrothed to His bride, the church. The wedding feast takes place in heaven when all the saints are resurrected. It's the only wedding that Jesus will have and the only one that will occur in heaven and the new earth.
