Wow, this is a neat one! I really enjoyed it. I like the trees!

4:02, 8 of the cells in box 5 are on the thermo, and therefore greater than the bulb, which is therefore necessarily 1. A similar observation can be make about box 2 and r4c5.

Yeah there were a few points on this one, when i went back in and watched, where it was something obvious i could have picked up quicker but didn't see right away in the process of the solve.

@@LogicLemurGaming I think the hard part about online solving must be doing it *while people are watching.*

@ There is a little bit of a push to be entertaining which can cloud some obvious things...luckily its not done in front of a live studio audience..lol

Your advice on the modular confused me. Giving me 3 sets of numbers I thought they would appear. I ended up just following the directions and that got me there. could you expand on your explanation?
@LogicLemurGaming12 күн бұрын
For the Modulo 3 rule it is a somewhat common ruleset where there are 3 sets of digits, within 1 through 9, whose remainders once divided by 3 are the same. Usually setters will include these for ease of solve but its not necessary as it can be figured out in puzzle. Those sets are (147, 258 and 369). Each grouping having a different remainder...so 1,4,or7 divided by 3 all have the same remainder....2,5,8 also have their own, and of course 3,6,9 as well. So if you know what the groupings are off hand it makes things a little easier. Then when you look at the line you can say each set of three digits along that line will need to be one digit from each of those sets. And the pattern will repeat along a continuous line.

The thermo trees weren't too bad, but that modular line took some heavy pencil-marking and elimination work.

There was some work to be done there...getting the trees fully sorted helped though.

Yeah, I actually managed more of the top 6 boxes before tackling the modular line and that 5 in R8C5 was even more obvious for me - I only had the bottom two cells left in C5 and the bottom three in C2 so it was an obvious place to look for sorting out the line so not much pencil marking needed before I started sorting out the modularity of the line. As with everything you gotta spot it for it to be useful though! ;-)
