It is so amazing.... i have been there 20 something years ago, and i remember driving to the park and seeing those enormous trees from the distance. Felt impressed and a bit scared of thei size of that forest.

Wow! what a blessing to have those beautiful trees as a remainder of an untouched earth. We should do whatever we can to preserve these magnificent forests.

Don't know when you were there, but I was in Sequoia National Park on July 9th and hiked up Moro Rock around 4-5 am to catch the sunrise and take pictures. Totally alone and totally at peace. Loved every high altitude and controlled burn wheezing breath it took me to make it up there.

My father and I visited the Sequoia National Park back in mid-June and it was absolutely beautiful there! This was part of a 10-day road trip that we went on in the Southwestern part of the U.S. My father and I are from Indiana and flew from Indianapolis to Phoenix, then drove from there to the suburbs of Los Angeles on June 9, June 10, we went through downtown Los Angeles, to the Santa Monica Pier, then got up to Bakersfield, CA, June 11, we spent our first day at the Sequoia National Park, going up the Morro Rock and seeing the General Sherman Tree, June 12, we mostly hiked around in the Sequoia forest, June 13, we went through Death Valley, drove through downtown Las Vegas, and ended up near the Hoover Dam, June 14, we visited the Hoover Dam and I walked across the bridge that goes over the Hoover Dam, June 15, we took off and visited the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, June 16, we went up to the Four Corners Monument, before stopping in Flagstaff, AZ, June 17, we drove down to Phoenix for the day, and finally on June 18, we flew back home. It was the first time my father and I visited the west coast, seeing the Pacific Ocean for the first time, and we had the time of our lives! Now, I must ask you Hannah, what’s it like down in Australia? I’m looking to make a trip down there in January 2020 and I’m currently in the process of finding someone to join me for the trip! By the way, this was a great video!

You always do a job of telling a story in your videos. Little things that add up to let us know about your experience. It’s not shiny or idealized, it’s just real - like filming snowball fights while balancing hitting the other person with keeping the camera out of the line of fire. It seems like you two have had a great adventure. Beach, mountains, desert, sun, rain, sleet, cold and heat. I’m glad you missed the earthquake, which was centered between the south ends of Sequoia and Death Valley NP. You’ve lived in Japan, so I’m sure you’ve already experienced one.

Gen Sherman is supposedly the heaviest living single organism on Earth. Sooooo, in 2001, I was surprised that only an elderly 95 lb Park Ranger lady was the only thing guarding it! Also surprising was what a ZOO that place was during a Summer holiday weekend. Car alarms, screaming kids, engines, all in the background. AAA motorist assist had my car unlocked only 10 minutes after I called them! Very beautiful. But touristy.

Good camp fire tip... larger thick branches laid in a square log cabin style, and small kindling in the middle. You get good air flow, and structure. Good for fire.
