I’ve met a lotta medical folks who come down here (to do missions ) although I like the idea but the only way to make a real impact on the country is by building and train the locals to take care of their own just in case something happen and y’all can’t go down there

Hi. I have been to VT a couple of times. It’s a great place. I like the vintage style of the property. VT is quiet and nicely situated at the center of PV with great views. I will only hope for a switch to platform beds in the future. I do love the place. ❤️

Sorry for the delay...we booked it thru Expedia...it was 109 ish for the double for the kids and about 160ish for the suite..the wifi was good since I work remotely...another problem I had. They didn't except Amex...I couldn't use the company credit card😩...usually when I travel the company pay my hotel & travel fees...

I want to tell all Diaspora Visiting Haiti, Do not take no shit from no one, if their customer service is not up to standard, make noise, don't say oh its haiti. Their prices are more than US prices while they paying their employees in gourdes. The Racism in Haiti is worst than the US, and once they have your money, its hard for them to refund you, and that is unacceptable. Let's say you give deposit of 300 dollars, and you checking out, its hard for them to give you back your money. All the hotel in Haiti take the Diaspora for idiot, please let's show them how shit gets done, how customer service gets done. And the prices for their food, is ridiculous.

The reason I asked that is because so call haitians want to open busnisses to charge high fees but seems to not understand one of the biggest problems in haiti is not paying haitians a living wage and you wonder why haitians have to their homeland to go to work in countrys that are not towards us. that's why i ask how they pay? OVERPRICED. this is one of the main reasons diasporas are unwilling to travel to Haiti . They average 150 to 200 a night. That’s ridiculous, especially during a pandemic.

Yes and no. You have to be willing to see it another way. The city doesn't provide electricity. The hotel has to buy a giant generator and put gas in it and run it basically 24/7. The city doesn't provide water. The hotel has to have huge water safes and they either buy water or have a special system to capture, filter and treat rain water. The local police is weak, the hotel has to contract a private security firm for 24/7 rounds. Everything that you can think of, that normally would be a bill with the City or not even a concern elsewhere, in Haiti needs to be built from the ground up by setting up expensive systems and running them. People think that because it's a poor country, everything should be cheaper, and it's true in terms of human labor and local groceries, but not true for everything that we have to get from the US or create to fill the void created by lack of proper governance. Washing machines, dinnerware, ovens, AC units, all of it is paid twice the price because it's bought in the US, and shipped to us by plane, which cost almost the same as the appliance. Please ask any family member of yours living there to check the price of a phone and compare it to the price of that same phone in the US. It is at least a 50% markup.
