As a single, I approach marriage like I would many other things. With study and preparation. It's the biggest life choice that I'll make and the stakes are too high to get it wrong. I'm thankful that I didn't get married in my 20s because I wasn't mature enough to sustain the type of marriage I desire. I desired marriage for the wrong reasons. I thought it was a fairytale that would alleviate any problems that would come my way. That my husband would be the true source of my happiness. I idolized marriage and put that desire ahead of my relationship with God. Thankfully God has protected me and matured me since then. Meanwhile friends and family members are getting divorced left and right. Because they rushed into marriage leaving God out of the equation. I can't control when my spouse arrives but I can take steps to prepare myself for him in the meantime.

Thank you, Fr. Josh and Fr. Mike. You are both holy men. I enjoyed listening to you. My husband and I have been married 43 years. The first time I met his parents, I knew they had a marriage I desired. I agree with learning from looking at good marriages.

Holy marriage & strong families will save this country but you will also need religious vocations. We need it all. At 74 now, I look back & can honestly say that the truest statement ever is "it takes a village " Dont discount our priests. You need them to make your marriage a sacrament, it's the sacrament which makes your marriage holy. It was the glue that held mine together even past to death do us part.

I am not sure hiw to send in a question. After listening g to tge video from Fr. Mike regarding contact with dead loved ones, my protestant friend has questions. 1. Is time in ourfatiry the same for every one? 1. How does it work there? Does a person stay there until they are good enough to go to heaven? I need to ve able to give the sensible answers. The only reason we didn’t kill one another well first the only reason we didn’t get divorced sooner than we did was, because neither one of us would take custody of the children, and the only reason we didn’t kill one other was neither one of us, thought the other one was worth the jail time. This is one subject, that grinds my soul.

I’m divorced for 21 years. After 20 years marriage. None of what I listen to would ever convince me that I would ever want to get into that pool again there is a great old quote from a comedian I cannot remember, it’s probably an old Henny Youngman joke. Marriage is an institution, but who wants to be institutionalized.

I say this with all the respect in the world, but if you are not married then you have no idea what you are talking about. And if marriage is a vocation as you claim then it should pay and we are not paid to be married and if we are paid to be married then my wife says it does not pay enough.

Any evening at the mutual admiration Society. Yes, even the old 66-year-old broad can get a little bit testy. You’ve got 10 years on father Johnsen and it shows. It’s very rare. In fact, this may only be the second time in the 8+ years. I’ve been following you where you disappointed me. Now I know I’m not your audience but you just didn’t feel like the father Mike that I know.
