minor criticism here, being a person that grew up in Dubai, i can guarantee that all that was built of the backs of modern slavery (the exploitative kind not ownership kind, they "technically" have salaries)... its amazing what Dubai has built for itself, but heartbreaking to actually see how they achieved it

Yeah man idk. Promoting Dubai, Saudi Arabia or Qatar nowadays feels like the most misleading thing to possibly do. When it comes to human rights, female rights or just the complete lack of empathy towards poverty, it ends up beeing the last country I want to give my money to by a long margin. Yes they are building amazing cities out of the desert, but nobody wants to know how, at what cost. It's the most instagram friendly place in the world and they know it, but if you take a step back and see the towering pile of slaves and destroyed natural resources to get there, you truely do NOT want to give any slack to these countries. I have nothing against any normal citizen from there though. Let me make that clear.

It’s ironic to see people from Western countries talk about human rights. Talk to any person living in the country (and I say living NOT visiting) and hear their voice instead of getting your information from news or mainstream media. As a foreigner in a western country myself, a lot of people here are brainwashed by their media about countries outside their own & show no willingness to learn from or even talk to people who actually live in those countries.
@thedarkflowkiller
@thedarkflowkiller 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jojomojo202 I lived 12 years in Jordan and Israel, I also had to go to Saudi Arabia a few times in the 2010s. I am not saying this because I read some article somewhere on the internet. And I am not a reddit troll that stayed behind his desktop all his life. If you ask ANY environmentalist that actually knows his stuff from Dubai they will always say the same thing. Go listen or read dozens of interviews of people that worked and gave their lives to build a freaking football stadium for westerners in Qatar. And when they were done with their work they went back to their slums with barely anything paid to them. Not everything you read is true, but what I stated up there is FACTS. You don't need to be a victim of rape to talk about rape. Just like I don't need to be a worker in Qatar to talk about human condition and rights.
@DBT1007
@DBT1007 2 жыл бұрын
Rather than talking about Arabia, maybe u need to see India. India is far more dangerous. Like.. even if the female following the rules there, they still have a big chance got abused or even can lead to death. In Arabia, as long as the women follow their rules, the female are fine. At least it's like that. Unlike in India. And some Arabia rules on genders are good actually. Like.. separating the room or seat place for male and female. It's extremely good to reduce the chance of sexual harassment or stuff like that. or d3ath sentence for child mol3ster or something like that. Arabia only bad in the slavery thing. Yeah, the execution thing is not the biggest problem there. It's the slavery thing. Not really slavery since they're paid. But the working condition is like slavery

Reading all the comments about how UAE shoul not be yet praised for bulding "The future female" reminded me of a story from a female compatriot (From México) who was sentenced in Qatar to suffer 100 lashes just because she demanded justice from a rape that ocurred to her from a Qatarí citizen in the same country. My point is, yes this countries are growing fast and have money to show but are not perfect when it comes to human rights, i know my country is not perfect but hell i don´t go out and sponsor that everything is Okay. Some people in the comments are right, the Yes Theory team should do a little bit more research before selling out.

Don’t you think saying the UAE put an emphasis on women is kind of purposewashing? There are still laws for male guardian authority and loopholes for reduced sentencing for men for killing a female relative. „a woman in the UAE can still lose her right to financial maintenance from her husband if she refuses to have sexual relations with him without a “lawful excuse“ The law does not criminalize marital rape. Yes they are going in the right direction but I don’t think they are ready to be praised yet.

So many people are commenting about the lack of rights for women in the UAE, and I would just like to say that as a woman having grown up in the UAE, and still living here, I have to say that the progress and determination of providing women with a safe environment and equal rights is extraordinary. I can walk alone in the streets without looking behind me, i won't be catcalled while walking alone, in universities and start up incubators they have programs for women in the workplace and assitance in developing business. In addition, the UAE was the first Middle Eastern country to have a woman as the head of a Bank. I understand there may be a tainted vision of womens rights i the ME, but don;t just assume that Dubai falls within this. I have so many wonderful female role models to look up to living here, and I wish you could all experience the same. Of course the issue with underpaying the lower working class is something that should not go unnoticed, however the life everyone builds for themselves here individually, separate from the government, should not be looked down upon when having the UAE in mind. Thank you Yes Theory for sharing your experiences in the UAE and the Middle East, breaking boundaries and opening eyes. Yours Sincerely, A Happy Woman living in the UAE :)

In dubai if you are a citizen then the government will give you a house and job and money if you are verging homelessness. Does america do that? England? and now onto the human rights nonsense. Which human rights are the denying? most western countries are far worse on human rights than any arab country. Omg haven’t seen dora in so long she was one of the original people I zoomed with during covid times and she truly is an amazing person! I have yet to meet her in person! Soon i hope! I remember dora for her outfits and support during covid, I saw a different animal onesie every-time we had an event, it brightened everyone day! And I truly appreciate you Dora Babanovic! I don’t think I would be where I am mentally and physically without yes fam! Truly blessed by everyone I lost my dad in 2018 and lost my mom 2021 and everyone is so supportive and checking in with me and giving me wisdom and support it means so much! we are a real true family! I love you yes fam and thanks yes theory!

Does anyone understand that “Yes Theory” or “ Seek Discomfort” has done so many things to try and better peoples lives. They are simply a positive channel and create hope and change to better ourselves with thinking outside of this box that we have created as a society and try and experience more people, places and things in a positive light…even when it seems like pure darkness. I find them inspirational.

Hi Lauren I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….

Woah, thank y'all so much for sharing this experience. What an amazing place, I have never heard of it before and wish I could go now. Ammar is an amazing presenter, he truly brings joy to every video he is in. As I have watched Yes Theory for a couple years, I have seen the physical and spiritual transformation in Ammar that beams from within him from the inside out. It's truly beautiful and inspirational. I hope to be able to find ways to put yes theory to the test in my own everyday life... any suggestions for someone who can't access/utilize long distance travel as a way to break out of your norm?

It seems that the people behind this building are using youtubers to promote the building. First Casey Neistat and now Seek Discomfort. It feels like the thing where all of a sudden all the youtubers promote squarespace and nordvpn.. and now this building in Dubai.

I have to admit that sometimes when seeing some of your videos on my YT homepage, I'm not sure if it would be interesting for me to watch, just because it doesn't seem to be an interesting topic to me. But the storytelling and editing, the whole framework each time is SO on point that I always end up feeling so inspired! With this video I also realized how much I've missed engaging with the Yes Fam since deleting my Facebook- can only hope that there will be an independent app in the future 🤍
