I got say, in reference to this speedpaint I got reminded to note that I figured out that the conceivement of the Chimereon species is actually very brilliant :) It’s name is a portmanteau of of a chimera and a chameleon. And the chameleon parts show! And plus, a chimera is a mythical creature that has the main anatomy of a lion, so the fur, enlarged teeth and feline paws give it the leonine aspect. And plus Chimeras also have the parts of a goat and a dragon and or a snake. And a chameleon has horns like a goat and is a reptile like the dragon! And plus, several snake species have horn like projections on they’re heads, notably above the eyes and the snout :) So THATs a good reference And plus, this particular individual has leopard-like rosettes! And that reminds me of the spotted lions or Marozi, as well as young cubs which have these very spots at that age in development :) And plus black leopards are known as panthers, and there is such a species of chameleon known as a panther chameleon :) The Chimereons are just very well conceived species due to those linked facts :) Either by intention or by coincidence ^^
