Real-life skills...use what you have. I could probably feed myself and my hubs for about a month on the food that we have in the house. Thanks for the inspiration. Gotta take inventory and get busy planning menus. What a great way to start a new year. I will need to track meals for WW Purple tracking as well.

If you have a little bit of rice cereal leftover Like Rice Krispies or rice Chex it works great mixed with flour as a coating for chicken or fish or sweet potato fries. My husband gets kind of weird with cereal and sometimes he just can't finish the box of something like that and it keeps things very crispy when you use it as a breading. Salad dressings make great marinades for chicken. Cutting marinated chicken breasts into strips will still be frugal - I don't care for shredded meat myself we did not have it growing up although we were poor Mom did a great job feeding us with what $ she had. Mashed Potatos are so frugal and can be stretched love them. I also have never used Cream Cheese in soups but since both you & Frugal Fit Mom use it I will have to try it as well Barley is something I have never used but loved Scotch Broth Soup as a kid

Also I bought food through a church group that was not a co op and no contract you could buy each month or not- did not have th o be poor or a church member to use it. . Also food stamps has changed their financial earnings guidelines so check it out.
