When I first started in the hobby, I bought a brown in and didn’t really enjoy it because, well, it’s brown. A color I never liked growing up. Now I have several brown pens and I Love brown ink. I keep finding new ones to collect. I also find myself attracted to turquoise. That was is less surprising, but it’s also a color that I keep looking for the perfect shade.

Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun is my perfect grey. It works flawlessly in every pen I put it in and is light but still legible even in my driest extra fine nib. I’ve tried several other greys, but none of them compare and I honestly don’t have any desire to try any more. It’s the only color I ALWAYS have inked.

Looking back at what I had inked in May 23, two combinations stand out: Pilot Custom 912 with Birmingham Pen Co Emerald Fusion, and a Franklin-Christoph 46 with Platinum Citrus Black (Iron Gall).

Oh, Platinum Citrus Black is an intriguing ink I have not tried yet.

I would love to receive the Jinhao x 59 as a present. I do not own any Jinhaos. I only have kaweco sports. I just got into fountain pens last year 😊…but I live in the US. So idk if that would be too much to ship.
