being a 595 owner myself, i couldn't agree more with you, but all these negatives are massively outweighed by the positives of having an Abarth, and only Abarth owners would know this.

Any car when you hit the air recycle switch will fog up the windows. Typically you recycle the air when you are running A/C to keep the cold air cycling. Being you don't have AC.... So the windows fogging is not a fist issue, it's a every car on the planet issue.

Ok, here is some criticism: 1. You're complaining about the fuel efficiency yet, you don't own/drive a GT car. The Abarth is your daily drive which doesn't mean you should do hundreds of miles per day in it. At least in my opinion. Anyways...The GOOD criticsm: I really really reeeeally like your natural behavior! When I started watching a few videos of you, quite a while ago, I thought "Man, this guy is quite arrogant" Yet, you are such an honest, open-minded and clearly down-to-earth person that I bet is really nice to meet in person and hang out with. I have a 595 Turismo, and I agree that the boot chrome and passenger side badge declaring '500' is a bit annoying. The thing that is most annoying is that big cars (read: Audis) come right up the the bumper trying to intimidate you out of the way, no matter how fast you're going - they couldn't possibly be seen to be held up by a small car, no matter how quick. On the flip side, it's a nice Q-car to catch out unsuspecting bigger cars though. The list of things I love about my car is a lot longer than 5 things...

100% agree with you on the hard ride aspect. I drive a 595 and swerving pot holes is apart of the everyday drive. The turning circle is pretty poor too - apart from that it's the best little thing to drive around... I can't help but rev a little too much with that signature Abarth exhaust! Thinking of upgrading to Competizione..

I have a North American 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth which is the European equivalent of the old Abarth 500 Essess or the current Abarth 595 Turismo. To soften the ride, I went in the opposite direction and installed budget shocks and struts, specifically KYB Excel-G shocks and struts. The car's now a bit bouncy at slow speed, but at least I get to keep my fillings at any speed! 😁

Sam, it sounds like the Mileage is not too bad? What I didn't understand is how your car's HVAC is different from everyone else's car even with the absence of air conditioning, because it is either outside air or recirculated air in every other car produced. It's not like you buy bottled air when you fuel up?

Hello From Germany. I also bought an Abarth 5 months ago. Mine is the Facelift Competizione 180 MTA version. My (still) biggest problem is the Sabelt seat height. I have a sunroof...and that's why the middle part of the roof is lower. So I payed 500 Euros to place the seats 2,5 cm lower. The position is still too high. The other thing I don't like is the fact, that there is no Tempomat, Cruise Control. There are no seat heater...and no defrost in the side mirror. The steering wheel can't be positioned forward/backward...just up & down!!!Off course I also hate the Dashboard 500 sighn...so much, that I decided to visit the Koshi Group Carbon Factory from (Prizren, Kosovo) and will let install the Carbon Dashboard. There will be also a badge! Not 500, but 595 Competizione 👍👽👉 5⃣9⃣5⃣

Nobody in their right mind would buy the top of the range Abarth, without taking a thorough road test. Apart from the cost, its an extreme ride, an few drivers could put up with such firm suspension, but this is the charm of owning and driving such a rare car. The main reason Fiat have removed the A/C from the BiPosto, is to save weight. The compressor that operates the system, weighs quite a bit, and if you thought the fuel economy was poor, just try driving with the A/C on, it will cripple your fuel efficiency. If you find it gets too warm in the car, just open a window slightly.
@bsd1037 жыл бұрын
embrace the "it's just a 500", it's quite fun when everyone assumes it and you get to drive the most rambunctious little sleeper! People always assume my 230+whp abarth is slow and you get all sorts of fun reactions when they try to race!

What does it get to the gallon? if you're getting 280 miles on £30 that's pretty bloody good. i get about 10 miles every £1 in my 1.4 diesel. it can't be that crap on fuel if the tank is genuinely £30 to fill. If it gets that far it can't be getting less than 45-50 to the gallon and that in a performance petrol car is pretty bloody good

Is there not a locking petrol cap? I had a Fiat 500 version of this car, and I had to put the key in to open it. On the Abarth, it appears you just unscrew it. Maybe this is why your fuel economy is bad, maybe someone's siphoning your petrol when you're not looking?
