Personally I still think defenders look and are at there best in base steel wheel commercial spec, the 3 door 90 with seen through glass sign writing would look great, maybe leave the urban stuff for the drug dealers and wide boys though.

I dont like the big wheels. To me defenders were never luxurious vehicles, i think theyre more utility vehicles, and those massive and expensive wheels kind of clash with how i see the car

Great and fun to see lenny back! Talking about the ten to two driving, during a training I've learned you need to drive quarter to 3. This is because of the airbag, because with ten to two your wrists are partially in the way of where the airbag will go to. Several modern steering wheels also have a thickening for your thumbs on the right place when driving quarter to 3.

A quite note on the “10 to 2” driving position: it’s now recommended to use the “15 to 3” position so your arms aren’t in the way of the airbag goes off. Also, I would recommend having at least one vehicle in the STG fleet that has rear seats as you may have more than one passenger at one point.

For those in North America, 20 mpg UK (4.5L) is equivalent to about 16 mpg based on the smaller US gallon of 3.8L. For a two-door SUV, where it's about $8.28 USD a gallon (converted from UK Pound & Liters) for fuel, yeah, I can see why you would want something more efficient.

It’s relatively easy to pop up the bottom of the rear seat and stand it behind the drivers seats - then the rear seats go down dead flat - it’s an option 🤷‍♂️

Mate just buy the commercial Defender 90 remove the bulkhead and install folding jump seats against the sides of the rear compartment. They fold up virtually flat to allow most cargo and you can seat several people in a pinch. Job done.

Wait 5 years to see if it’s any good or not. I wouldn’t be putting lots of money into an unproven fan made car from a company that’s never made a car before. Plus it’s fugly and looks like a Chinese rip off Land Rover with some G wagon thrown in for no apparent reason. Better off just buying a proper defender and taking it to Mahker or similar company.

Aren't the van back defenders restricted to 50mph on A roads as its sold as a commercial vehicle without seats in the back so it falls under 'van' speed limits? I have an old shape van back defender 90 and i'm pretty sure it is limited to 50. Happy to be proved wrong...

Hi Sam I just picked up a new Macan GTS I am getting 400 miles to the tank £104 approx is this any good ? I swapped it for a 2018 SQ7 £100 got me 720 miles in that, like the urban stuff but the fuel economy on that defender is shocking

20mpg average is not good, especially if you’re doing several long trips to Amari and Alexanders. At least with a D200 you’d be getting over 30 on runs. You seemed to like that diesel Jag you had in, much more suitable - get one of those?

Have you considered an EV for your daily? As a business owner, there are tax benefits, plus it'll be congestion charge exempt. You could charge it in your office/warehouse. The big T isn't the only option either, there are other better built BEVs available. Just a thought.
