This song is very heavy for me because the song describes my first relationship. She would mentally and verbally abuse me. But I just let it be cause it was my first relationship. This song is my favorite seether song. She actually eventually tried to get back with me witch brought back the trauma.

This is about a real relationship. You did a reaction to Broken, with Seether and Amy Lee. Well, the guy in the video, Shaun Morgan (Lead Vocalist for Seether) had a relationship with Amy Lee and then had a breakup. This is his feeling about that. Incidentally, Amy is the lead singer of Evanescence and came out with her take on this, Call Me When You’re Sober, at around the same time. You might want to react to that song (By Evanescence ) and make a comparison. It is interesting, if nothing else.

I think that Shaun’s take is that his relationship with Amy was all about her and so focused on her that she didn’t really know him. Her take, from Call Me When You’re Sober, is that drugs and alcohol fueled a lot of his reactions and she felt, if he would have sobered up, maybe they could have fixed their problems, but, at that time, it didn’t happen. I really encourage you to listen to Call Me When You’re Sober, by Evanecence. I am not sure who I believe. I am sure that there is plenty of blame to go around, but a public airing of relationship problems is very interesting, to say the least.

I encourage you to listen to Rise Above This, by Seether (From the same cd). It is an anti-suicide song and is, maybe the best video ever made. This whole cd is about trying to overcome problems. It’s called Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. I think Rise Above This is a song that, lyrically, shows you how to do that.
