A few millennium later, he was summoned as a comic book super hero... But, we still wait for his live action movie under the infamous Marvel.

👏👏 Good. Very good Complete of Late Deeds of Hercules in Greek Mythology history. Well done. Congratulations now that was true story ever!
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
It's actually not a complete account of all of His deeds. There were plenty of other stories involving Hercules after the labors. He had an extensive career and there are more stories about Hercules than any other hero

Hercules was god fearing after beating up a God lol
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
Hercules exists in a bit of a grey area. The myths where He comes into conflict with Gods are clearly meant to illustrate that He Himself is a God in His own right. They're allusions to His later apotheosis and worship. However, He starts out as a mortal and is therefore still subject to what is expected of Him as a mortal. So yes, there are myths that show both of these things because He is meant to be understood as both. He is a man and a divinity.

@@wildmen5025 bruh when you want to talk about his story then mention the Greek version not the Roman one
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
@@2prider451 It literally doesn't matter. There is no "Roman version" of Hercules' story. There are myths involving Hercules unique to Rome but the implication in those stories is that it is the exact same guy and he just so happens to be engaging with their people. This is why when Hercules was worshipped by the Romans He was given Greek-inspired rites. They acknowledged that He was an ethnically Greek person.

It's Hercule Satan
@burtan20006 ай бұрын
why do you call him Hercules and not his correct Greek name Heracles? Surely a channel as knowledgeable as this knows the difference? Or is it that our society has so long known him as Hercules, it no longer matters?
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
Honestly? It really doesn't matter if you call Him Herakles or Hercules. It's the same guy. Hercules is literally just a latinized way of saying Herakles. The Romans even acknowledged this by worshipping Hercules with Greek-inspired rites to acknowledge that He was born an ethnic Greek. There is no "Roman version" of Hercules' story. There are myths that involve Him being active in Rome but these are meant to be understood as taking place in the same timeline as His other adventures

It's really Heracles in Greek Mythology, not Hercules. That's his Roman Mythology counterpart.

I thought Greek gods were more than "spirits", since they mated with humans and all, so how come than only Hercules' spirit went to Mount Olympus?
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
They are spirits. They are not physical beings. Their ability to mate is more so poetic symbolism. Hercules' spirit went to Mount Olympus because it is the part of Him that actually could. The physical body is still going to reside on the physical plane

It's Heracles but if you want to get really technical his real name is Alcides
@wildmen50256 ай бұрын
Herakles / Hercules is the much better name for Him because it reflects who He became in life.
@DivinizedOne6 ай бұрын
It was Alcides yes, but after he was attacked with snakes a priest of Hera told his mother to change his name to Heracles meaning “for the glory of Hera” to attempt to appease her (didn’t work and hera kept hating him ofc)
