This story is a bit akeward because the Anunnaki had technology. They mostly used sonic/vibrational tech, think of microwave cutters - things we discovered just years ago, some still in R&D phase. They did have rockets and were advanced in terms of biology/genetics, but they weren't very innovative because they were/are a monarchy, and that form of government isn't very conducive to progress. They just had few hundred thousands years head-start against humans, so it's natural their tech was better but at the same time could be seen as primitive. Still, they were well beyond what humans could do then and in many cases even now.

The Annunaki coming from a planet called "Nibiru" isn't in Sumerian mythology. That's apart of Zacharia Sitchen's fictional book "Lost Book of Enki" that doesn't have any corroborating tablets for that part of the story. Nibru was the ancient name for Nippur, aka Enlil's City, where his palace, the Ekur still sits in ruins. The Igigi surrounded the Ekur in mutiny but there wasn't a war either. The lead mutineer, Ilawela/Geshtu-E, was sacrificed in order to create humanity as told in the Atrahasis Tablets.

The Annunaki story was written literally thousands of years before the bible was written. Around 5.000 years in fact (for the old testament; for the new testament its closer to 7.000 years). Many of the stories in the bible are actually stolen and rewritten from much older books, including the Epic of Gilgamesh which is one of the oldest books in recorded human history.

They resented being blamed, rightfully or not, for being the cause of all disasters, so it makes sense that Marduke and Enki, if they stayed, transitioned their mythology into being ethereals, not corporeals or temporal creatures to which humans could make physically appeals to. They would no longer be expected to explain or justify their actions and history. To this end, it made sense that all original and ancient records had to be destroyed and a new mythology born. The new mythology had to be one in which the Anunnaki were erased and the "gods" were only ethereal with a cosmic source, not a planetary one. It is obvious that the first books of the Old Testament were paraphrases of the stories from the Sumerian tablets that are sanitized and distorted to the benefit of the new gods.
