Yep. And what more, I read in an old Thracian myth that it was said the werewolves had their main lair on Mount Haimos in Thrace, in the Iron palace of Ares, where the sun light is weak, together with Harpies, furies, vampires, dragons, lizard like things, predator birds, fire breating horses, and other nasty monsters and gods of war and bloodshed. A recurrent theme in Greek mythology and a general cultural aphorism was: "Everything in moderation; nothing in excess". One of the most sacred places in Greece, the temple of Apollo at Delphi, bore the inscription "Meden Agan" (μηδὲν ἄγαν) - 'Nothing in excess'. This story is a great example of this general principle: even gods should be worshiped in moderation; fanaticism is dangerous.

The version I've heard wasn't just that they were having human flesh for dinner--it was actually one of Lycaon's own sons. Don't worry, the kid gets brought back to life by Zeus--but he killed the rest of Lycaon's sons, and transformed the king into a wolf.

You’re thinking about one of Zeus’ sons offering his own sons (Zeus’ grandson) to Zeus, Hermes and Demeter. Demeter actually ate the shoulder of his grandson but Hephaestes created an Ivory shoulder for the child. And they returned him to life, his name was Pelops and he became the King of the Peloponese

I commend him for Actually getting involved and seeing if there was any truth to these actions And for taking action himself. But I don't think it was a sound strategy to turn these two into powerful monsters and let them run loose Unchecked. Now if he had made them into guards of the land where they would not hurt the people but only those of Ill-intentioned that will be a different story. By the way props to the artist and to the narrator this was beautifully done.

I think there is a difference between werewolves and Lycans. Now Lycans or lycanthropes are more humanoid, as in they seem like humans but are really tall, fast and strong and with fur, canines, claws and the head of a wolf.
