In this video I discuss shopping for my kids’ clothing for the season, and show how I pair items together to make their outfits.
I also share about our clothing budget, how to save by buying things consignment, and how we determine when to get rid of or donate things we’re no longer using.

I am completely with you on the clothing without sayings and dressing my little ones like little adults. I think it's completely adorable. You and one of your sisters should 💯 do an affordable clothing line! It's so hard to find simple staple pieces for kiddos when you don't really have much time to shop around.

Oooo... flannels in all colors, sweaters with elbow patches, and adorable sports coats, basic pants(jeans in all colors, khakis, runners, etc) Henley's, and oxfords/cotton buttondowns in all colors... Source a few good clothing lines to sponsor... 😏🤔

One tip for the converse shoes is to clean them with a wet magic clean eraser. I have cleaned so many shoes with those erasers and they look brand new! It will get all of those marks off of the white and make them look new for longer.

i use the magic eraser and then wash them in the washer in a net bag ( laces off) and then let them air dry... they look like new

Absolutely love second hand stores and garage sales. My nephew's favorite blanket was one I purchased at a second hand store. Cuddled up with it all the time when he was little,he is now 25 yrs old 🤗

Yes. Making outfits while you're at the store is the best way to shop. I hang up the sets together though, instead of having some folded and some hanging. That way, my kids can look in their own closets and pick out what they want.

I have a baby girl right around Ivy’s age and this was so helpful as I am trying to take a more “minimalistic” approach to her wardrobe. We shop mainly at thrift/consignment stores so sometimes it’s easy to get carried away among all the good deals haha. But I’m trying to keep her wardrobe simple so that we are getting the best use out of her clothing! Thank you for sharing this!

My son is in high school, but I still love watching this. I used to find 1.00-2.00 clothes at Walmart and Kmart when he was little. Never had any luck at consignment shops as they seemed to be more expensive then new, at least in our area. Good video!

We have thrift stores and consignment shops. Our thrift stores can be very reasonable and many have deals to clear out inventory (sometimes just for those "in the know"...not really advertised). Ours also seem to have different types of items, like one will have great clothing, all organized by size and color, a different one will be good for used furniture, another gets a lot of vintage or antique stuff. Consignment shops, in my opinion, are much more expensive and don't typically have the kind of clothes I like anyway. I would really only go to a consignment shop for a formal, if I couldn't find something cool at a good thrift store. I think consignment shops have more high end brands that are more expensive wholesale usually, but I don't care about Micheal Kors, or who ever else designs clothing that carries their name. It's not my vibe...lol. I'd rather be in running short, a swimsuit top and water shoes outside in nature (beach, river, springs, camping). Anyway... In our area, the thrift stores are what you want to look for. 💚

I LOVED this video (and your others!) we are also trying to minimize items in our home and kids clothes are a big one! I also have 2 boys (4.5 and 2) so I have a very similar system for passing clothes on! I really enjoyed seeing how you choose items when you thrift shop. We also thrift for most of our clothing and I have a hard time knowing exactly what to get and how much. I will be utilizing your tip about making outfits right at the store before buying! Absolutely love how they have many mix&match clothes! And kid's don't necessarily need 100's of options. It's just more to wash&care for. So the essentials work the best. Love Spurges little paper airplane tutorial. P.S you can literally get so many amazing deals at Old Navy on their sales racks. And air drying is exactly what I do for my daughter's clothes.

I love this look on kids. I don't have kids so my opinion doesn't really matter....lol. Except to me. The boys will develop their own style, I think I would love to look like a little grown up. Actually, Jessa, her sisters and Mom should do an online consignment or swap shop.👌 My sister is a stay at home mom, she does that...it's good to have another income for the mom's, too. I loved Surgeons little cowboy boots. Henry's sweater with pads, and Ivy's brown little romper.

This was such a good video! I guess it was a couple years back you and your sisters shopped at Rhea Lana's then you posted what you found on IG. All of it was so cute and looked like it was all good quality items. Soon after your post, I found out my city and where my parents live both have Rhea Lana's franchises and you best believe I hit them both up last year after seeing your great finds! Between me and my mom, we too ended up finding so many cute items in fantastic condition for my daughter, including the majority of her Matilda Jane stash! Once Upon A Child has been another great place for us to find things that we have an immediate need for, like a heavy coat for this year, that maybe we didn't find at Rhea Lana's.
