If those are the spoil islands in St. Joseph's Sound, we fished those same islands on Tuesday. Went out about 7:00 and it was 43 degrees. We probably hit two sides of 5 or 6 of the islands. We only caught fish off of 2 of them. I tried a bunch of different artificials (Mirrodines, DOA shrimp, Z-man paddle tails, etc.), but the only thing they were hitting were DOA CAL shad tails. Love watching your vids since I fish that same area most of the time.

Hey, I go to Longboat Key every year in April. Last year, was terrible because of the red tide. There was a ton of bait but never saw a fish, not even at the marinas where there always is. We also fish Tampa Bay with no luck. Have you seen an increase of fish since then in the area?
@SeeYaDude4 жыл бұрын
Since FWC closed Redfish, Snook, and Speckled Trout, I've noticed more smaller to smaller slot sized fish around. Since they just extended the closure to May 2021, I'm sure we'll continue to see more and more fish

Man that’s a cold morning brother, you’re dedicated! What is your opinion on the closure in Tampa Bay? I personal think it’s really help our fishery out!
@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
It has definitely helped the fishery a lot! I'm seeing more slot redfish now than I've seen in recent years. And since I don't keep redfish or snook, and rarely keep trout, it really didn't personally affect me. I know plenty of people that can't wait for it to open up again though

Brent Schirmer Fishermen do need to practice catch and release more. I always have. Catch is what drives me. To each their own though.

Heading to Tampa area this weekend form Ga any tips on what’s areas or bait kayak fishing? Enjoy your videos
@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
Safety Harbor is holding some good fish and you can launch a kayak next to the pier. For artificial use smaller swimbaits or shrimp lures. Live bait, live shrimp is your best bet. Hope that helps

@SeeYaDude5 жыл бұрын
I'm a big fan of St. Croix rods. They have a 7' Light action Avid Inshore series rod that I use on my 2500 Sustain and it's my favorite rod I own. Here's a link if you wanna check it out: amzn.to/2C3RmKO

I don't know if you're into doing things like this but I figured it was worth a shot .I am by no means what someone would consider a skilled saltwater fisherman.(I am a skilled angler and do quite a bit of bass fishing from a kayak on the Hillsborough river) Truth be told I really don't have the means to do much saltwater fishing but have done the best I can with what I have and I've managed to catch a small Snook on a free lined live shrimp. What I'm getting at is I would love to do a subscriber tag along where you teach the average Joe to fish better. I figured it might help you get more views and subscribers in hopes people are watching you hoping to learn and possibly join you..i know id like to find a channel that does something like that :) and would be honored to do such a thing with you if youd have me.
