Visited St Thomas a couple of times as I have friends that live there, I think I need to sort another trip out there after seeing this lol. Although it's probably changed lots since I was last there (around 2004-2005).

You got your facts a like wrong. The railway DOES still pass through St. Thomas. Certainly not to the extent it used to, but both Canadian National and the Ontario Southland Railway still come into town.
