I saw clips of that reaction in a recent video that brought me here. Its tone is quite different from this video. It’s from a few weeks ago, with a purposefully clickbait-y title like “the actual moment Walt becomes Heisenberg.” It’s longer, and a more honest critique of exactly what’s wrong with the BB fan base, but it’s still lighthearted and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It was the best piece of BB content I’d ever seen, until I saw this video. This is utter brilliance. I watched BB on and off when it was airing for the first time with my best friend who passed away earlier this year. I’d since watched it from start to finish, and now I’m watching BB & content like this because it takes me back to memories of me and my buddy just chillin, smoking, laughing… simple good memories. I’m almost 40, and my honest opinion is: the horrendous fanbase of this show is now mostly comprised of kids who were in Pampers when this show aired, they’re obsessed with Walter being a badazz, and way too young, dumb, and oblivious to any nuance in entertainment. Period. It’s mostly people who are kids right now who worship the altar of Heisenberg, and they conditioned to spew hatred & ignorance from behind a keyboard. I’m well aware that when the show aired, a vocal minority of internet losers sent Anna Gunn death threats, so this phenomenon isn’t “new”- people have always been stupid and will continue to be. But this new generation of new fans are the ones who make up the toxic portion of the fanbase this video is roasting. There are also the “woke” critics who don’t have the excuse of being young and naive who think this show PROMOTES “toxic masculinity.” But, extreme views in general are strongly correlated with low intelligence. Makes sense, people who aren’t thoughtful see the world in black and white, when 99% of everything exists in the gray area.
