I never owned a 32x so it's good to see these video games. Did you see that Brazil is making an FPGA version of the Sega Neptune (the genesis/32x combo). I might have to pick that up. You know me. I never had much experience with Sega consoles. But some of these hit home for me. In the 90's my dad got a game called Links 386 and it looks almost identical to Golf Magazine game. My dad, brother and I would spend a few hours playing the links. Since then, I have loved Golf games. So, you have a kindred spirit. The Metal Head game reminded me of a PC game called Shattered Steel. The graphics and play style are very similar, but I remember loving it. 😁And there is no better version of Doom than Doom on PC. 😉

Never played the 32x but man this helps show what it did for its time. Love that so many different things were tried and took that risk back then. Btw the only thing crappy is Doom on the 32x , not your channel. But as always , keep up the great work my friend!

I never owned it back in the day but bought it recently new in the box off ebay. So far I have knuckles chaotic, stellar assault, zaxxons motherbase, virtua racing, virtua fighter, star wars, metal head, and doom. I plan on getting afterburner and space harrier even though I have the Saturn versions. I definitely want to get tempo which i heard good things about. There's another game kolibri which i hear is pretty good on the 32x. My favorite games are knuckles chaotic and star wars

I feel like I've seen a lot of the 32X's library at least briefly (it's pretty small, right?), but I've never seen Tempo before. The looks and music of that game are amazing! Afterburner Climax on the Xbox 360 Arcade was so dope!!! If u were lucky to grab it before it was delisted u have hours of fun ahead of u. I unfortunately, have to emulate it on my PC to play it cuz I missed out. Such a shame.

Crazy how such a small operation can have cascading effects on the body. Glad you bounced back okay. I was one of those kids who got burned by the 32X when it was new. Well my parents did since they bought it thinking it was going to be a 5th gen platform to keep me relevant for a few more years. I loved Knuckles Chaotix but was kinda sour otherwise, we could have put our money toward a Saturn instead. I want to get a 32X and Chaotix again but scalpers have made it impossible to get an original copy.

@retrobeliever To be fair, I think someone at Toys R' Us talked them into it, we knew next to nothing about the device going into it. I believe they were fed a line about the 32X having as much of a life ahead of it as Saturn or PlayStation. I did also enjoy Star Wars Arcade and Virtua Racing Deluxe, so I could pick those up again. Tempo also looks really fun, I totally missed it in the 90s.

Star wars is the best from what little I have played on the 32x. It would have been interesting to see what could have been if the add on had a longer life. Any surgery can have odd side effects. I got a bit of a black eye when I had some skin cancer removed from my face. Glad to see it is healing up well. Have a good one bud.

I had the tower of power, worked many long hours to make enough money to buy the 32x and CD ROM. I was so mad at Sega for breaking faith with us. I actually quit gaming until 2005. Same with the Xbox One launch, I gave up until COVID.

Same, worked and saved like you! It was definitely heartbreaking to say the least. I honestly stopped gaming after getting the PS1, I had experienced all the consoles at the time and going out/partying and life took over. Before you know it I was off to basic and wouldn’t play many video games until 2001 at my first duty station, I bought a GameCube at Target for $99 and then would go on to get a Wii then later a Wii U. I would say I truly got back into gaming in 2016 to present day. I still only prefer retro, modern gaming isn’t doing much for me lol.

I got doom with my 32x, on clearance for like $90 bucks, then i got kolibri out of the clearance bin at kmart for like $9. Then I later got knuckles chaotix, and WWF RAW 32x..and I think that was about the jist of my 32 collection. I still have the WWF raw.

I had 32X Doom on release day so I learned to respect the first ever commercial version before the PS1 one came out. I don't play with the music on, never have as I think it's tacky even on PC lol. @retrobeliever back in the day (2002) I went straight for Xbox and then Gamecube. I gave PS2 a miss back at that time. Probably not the best of that generation in terms of graphics but had the best library.

Yeah, I never got the 32x . I think one of my friends got it. Very unimpressive. It's like the Sega CD. Either they rushed the games or the programmers didn't know what to do with it. For something that's supposed to have double the power it was overwhelmingly disappointing.

I am happy you showed these games. Some I have never actually seen. I'm glad I never got a 32X though. Calibri looked fun to me and Star Wars is a star. But it seemed like too much of an investment for too little of a return. Thanks for the video, Rob. Fun stuff! And I am glad you are doing better. I didn't even know you were having the surgery! (I had two dorsal ganglia cysts removed from my wrists. had they been surface cysts, it would have been a quick recovery, but..... I had to go through therapy. YAY!)

@ the wrists operations were years ago. 😂 First one when I was 15. Saw Robocop at the theater that night! 😂 And 10 years later has the second one done. The therapy was really cool second time around! New technology for therapy.
