The only downside for me is we never got Turbo Outrun or OutRunners. Instead we got an awful port of Rad Mobile (Gale Racer)...

I remember playing this as a kid in the arcades. Seeing a video like this makes you forget how good Segas systems were. This is why I own Two Mega Drives/Genesises and a Mega CD

Nice you playing the JP versions - the PAL Ages 3 game compilation versions has a glitch in outrun that when you complete the gateways course the position of the car stays in a semi-overhead view until the end sequence - not good.

The US arcade version has different level arragement. First left turn in US arcade brings you to "columns" level, but on this version it is 4-3.

In this version you can choose between Japan and Oversea layout.

@@jackburton6239 It's probably because that stage is visually impressive and they knew most players wouldn't make it too far in the arcade. All-Left A-Ending is the easiest to get.

Thanks! Oh boy, hard question. I tried out several capture devices over the past years. For this game it probably was a Startech capture box but it also could be one from AVermedia or even Elgato. Sorry, 5 years is a long time...

Wish super hang on, turbo outrun, fantasy zone 2, both golden Axe, alien storm, altered beast, shinobi got sega ages releases on the Saturn..

The only flaw is not having analog gas n' steering. You could corner nice and light around traffic with analog. And you can get an excellerated start off when u hold the peddle half way to rev in the green instead of tapping. My fav is on original Xbox included with Outrun2

Hi. This is the Sega Ages release - Is this the UK PAL version (3 on 1 disk)? Or is it the Japanese release? (Did they have a 3 on 1 disk in Japan?) What version console are you running it on? Any other hardware requirements? I bought the UK Sega Ages with Outrun and it does not look as nice as this. Thanks in advance!

This is the JP release running on a JP SEGA Saturn.The 3 in 1 release was US/EU exclusive and had no bonus music on the disc.

It runs at 60 fps, whereas the original arcade version ran at 30 fps.

No idea about the US version but this video was made with the japanese stand alone version. In that version it's selectable in the options. Maybe you have to clear it first. Can't remember.

Ok It's just I have the Japanese Stand Alone Version and I can't find it in the options so it looks like I might have to beat the game first

It's by the Region options (Oversea courses, Japanese courses). Just keep pressing left or right on this option and Smooth mode appears.

By the way I found at how to get the Smooth Mode hold down the a and c button while moving through the region options to get the smooth mode
