I remember on the drag race that you'd have to go against that extremely old car that would destroy you out of nowhere. I probably spent more time on this game than any other game I ever played. For the Chronicles Mode, I used the Corvette and for the Career mode, it was mostly the regular Corvette. I think it suped up to 700+ hp. God I miss this game.

This game brings back so many memories!! This was definitely my favorite racing to play as a child! There were certain cars that I hated driving😂

For me one of the best cars you can have to win races in career mode is the caterham super seven R500R , once you win it modify to the maximum and enjoy 😁 it truly is amazing

A good chunk of the cars are unlocked through winning races in career mode, like in any other racing game.

You're welcome! Oh, what's "displancement"? Silly, that's what the engine is "displance" as. Unfortunately, there aren't really many wangan featured tracks in this game for the Devil Z to stretch its wheels at. This game could've benefited from some speed tracks if I'm honest. I mean, there's a couple of city courses, but they only have 1 long straight with plenty of 90 degree turns and harpins mixed in.

This may have been the first game ever to have a Mazda Rx3 in it. Still to this day granturismo has never had this car which is quite odd

What I love about this game as a child was that my Dad's Mustang GT was a playable car in the game! I never played Gran Turismo 2 long enough to unlock the Mustang GT, if it was in the game.

Nice to share your story, I do love being able to drive my parent's cars whenever they come up. I have a similar story with being able to finally drive a Foxbody Mustang in Ford Mustang: The Legend Lives. To note: The Mustang GT in this game isn't the same exact car as your dad's, it's actually a Bullitt model. You know, the trim level Ford made in tribute to the 1968 Mustang GT that was in Bullitt. Also, you actually can get the same kind of Mustang GT as your dad's in Gran Turismo 2. You have to just save up over 22,000 cr in simulation mode to buy it.

@@RandomCarGuy17 Yeah. Exactly. My dad had a 1999 electric green Mustang GT when this game came out. He unfortunately sold it 8 years later because he couldn't get in and out of the car anymore. I learned to drive a stick in that thing. We ran a Carfax report on it and found it in Alabama somewhere, just chilling. My dad wants that Mustang back.

Was it just me or was the Viper a waste of money? I spent a lot of time and “money” adjusting the upgrades to see if maybe I needed to modify correctly but it always seemed like many other cars were better.

I still play this regularly, as it's backwards compatible for Xbox 360! Although, I have to know. Is there a way to get this for an Emulator? I've been searching for years now.

I know that you can run Xbox games on XEMU, but I didn't always get the best results when doing that. I'm also not the best person to ask for that as I remember very little on how I got XEMU to be setup. You're better off looking for a XEMU tutorial elsewhere.
