Oof... There's news about how Sega messed with how Amy in Sonic Frontiers the final horizon will act, as well as all other new Sonic games and shows. Including Superstars and how Amy CAN be fixed using these ideas.

I gotta say, I feel like at least 70% of these comments either haven't finished, payed attention to, or flat out ignored certain parts of the video The idea that Amy is maturing and evolving into her own character that isn't just dependent on sonic to have any real character traits? Thumbs up! I'm more than fine with that. But the issue at hand here is that they're subduing a part of Amy's character (her infatuation with sonic) and not filling it with anything else. That bio is like 50% identical to Sonic's! I thought they thought they were writing about the wrong character for a second! Amy can like like sonic and they don't have to talk about it every time the two characters are on screen, but naturally, you reduce the biggest part of a character or their relationship with anything/one else, and you come one step closer to reducing that one dimensional character to a 0 dimensional one if you don't add anything to fill the void

I'd say that's a result of subscribers seeing the video posted a minute after it was just uploaded, and rushing to the comments section so they could hurry up and maximize their chances of being one of the top comments. It's not just this channel but many other channels as well. My best advice for KZbinrs would be to leave comments off for a short period of time, such as an hour or twenty minutes, and then add them back once enough time has passed for enough people to watch the video.

I think that you can allow her to still be in love with Sonic, but not absolutely be obsessed with him. This is possible, and can be seen in literally the second issue of the IDW comics-it only really becomes a problem when you have examples like Generations where it becomes a little obsessive. You can still have her character be the same, she can still be the one to promote peace, love, and understanding, and still have her differentiated from Sonic, since his fight for injustice is not really backed up by emotions, instead being driven by a desire to help those who need to be helped, and then move on to go help others.

I think the seeds have already been sown for Amy to be differentiated from Sonic. They're both empathetic, but Amy moreso in a patient way that really gets to the heart of what people need on an individual level, rather than Sonic's "beat the big bad to save everyone". Sonic looks to the forest and Amy focuses on the trees. She's also shown to be the most intuitive character and has some kind of uncanny connection to other people (helping her find the right things to say to someone) and the world around her, which fits pretty well into the whole fortune cards thing. Amy is the heart of the group with the wisdom build.

Based on Sonic Boom, Sonic IDW comics and Sonic Prime (which gave us 3 different versions of Amy)-- none of which have her obsessing over Sonic as a primary personality trait, I don't think this is quite right. They all portrayed her as far more responsible and dutiful than Sonic, more willing to take charge of others-- but also likely to become obsessive about anything in general when first introduced it and with a tendency to lose her temper when she gets frustrated. I don't know if it would be right to call her "the heart" of the group because two of the three versions of her in Prime were villains for a bit-- one because she was duty-bound to Eggman until he betrayed her and the other because she turned on her friends for being irresponsible and destructive.

Memories make a person so I wouldn't really count Sonic Prime unless we are talking about 'regular' Amy - although we see about 5 minutes of her and its unconfirmed if sonic prime follows cannon game events, but just by looking at Shadow and his relationships with the cast - which are nonexistent for the most part - it doesnt follow SA2 and so in turn doenst follow the games.

I do like how Amy is acting a little more mature and that her character ark in Frontiers is leading her in a direction that means her entire life and identity isn’t completely evolving around Sonic anymore. This will hopefully lead to her having a lot more growth and depth to her character as a whole. BUT I don’t think she should stop pursuing Sonic entirely. I would like Amy to still openly show that she has feelings for Sonic and that she still hopes for that kind of relationship with him someday, but she would do it in a way that’s really sweet rather than childish and overbearing. I feel it is necessary to make a small correction. Amy Rose's "goth" outfit is not actually goth, but rather gothic-lolita (which is completely different from being a goth, a loli, or a goth-loli, because names make perfect sense). Since this doll is essentially about innocence mixed with retro-European aesthetics, The associations actually fit well with Amy's character, which is probably why they picked it. They probably gave her eyeliner to play on the similarities between Gothic-Lolita and Goth to make western audiences less confused. (It made them more confused though.)

So, here's a little correction. Amy wasn't necessarily 8 when she met Sonic and grew older. Sonic's always been 15 (in Jam stated as 16), meaning that chances are (and I'd hope that) she was simply retconned to be 12, judging by the fact that Tails was also 8 since his inception. Honestly I feel like they should tone it down, but more of just Amy playfully chasing after him less often and in a more playful way, something like the comics. If that's not the case, I feel like she's pretty much just a pink girl Sonic.

In the IDW comics, Amy is portrayed as a leader girl-boss kicking ass and taking names. Managing the resistance, being the mother like figure to cream and others. Tending to wounds but being a cheerleader and bringing others up and trying to get them to do good. Sonic also shares a lot of those traits especially trying to bring others on to the meaning of free will and inspiring hope, but isn’t really a caretaker and super responsible, he goes around and feels free but won’t feel settled down. I think if Amy just kept that along with the perfect subtle ribbing and slightly flirty chemistry they have in comics in game, that’ll make her perfectly distinct in the game canon. Plus, she still LOVES sonic, she’s just not gonna necessarily chase him around and be like an obsessed stalker. You can tell something is going on in the comics for that too, I think this video was blown out of proportion and just undermines the history.

I honestly think what Amy’s been missing recently is her PASSION and EMOTIONS. She’s always been the most expressive of the main cast imo, wearing her heart on her sleeve and making sure everyone knows it. This primarily manifested with Sonic, so I think most people just started assuming that the reason she was like that is she’s an obsessed fan girl and while, admittedly that’s kinda true, it was mostly because Amy is just… A Lot. She’s got Big Feelings. And she’s got an energy and excitement that dwarfs her friends. Amy’s like… everything BUT levelheaded. I think she’s just the only member of Team Sonic (i she a member of Team Sonic now??? She should be tbh) who has an actual concept of self-preservation, though I don’t think she has any problem overriding it when she gets heated up enough. And she’s like… actually pretty damn immature. She’s very empathic when clearheaded and, much like Sonic, always tries to see the good in people, but she does stupid stuff sometimes because she’s fun and silly too. Anyways the erasure of Amy’s fun, girly and kinda immature side and forced progression into being “mature and levelheaded” stems from the sexist idea that girls have to be perfect and more mature than the boys or their not worth having around pass it on

I think Amy doesn't need to be dark, she should be like in the comics, very cheerful and she is flirty with Sonic. Hopefully she still SHOWS her feelings for Sonic. IDW has been doing a pretty alright job with her on that, so I'm mostly only concerned on other iterations of her. Her crush on Sonic wasn't her whole character, but it was always a part of her character the same way Tails was always the sidekick character that wants to grow into his own hero. She was literally designed as the "love interest" girl at first, so if she's going the mature route, I just hope they don't toss that entirely.

Amy's reason for being created was that she was open with her love of Sonic and did the pursuing in an inversion of the classic trope of the hero being after a girl's affection, making her an unconventional love interest. While her being able to reach people with her compassion is a key part of her character, it's an extension/extrapolation of the core idea of her being a very vivacious, unfiltered character who believes in stuff like destiny, true love etc. That's why she likes tarot cards and fortunes, for example. Her character evolved over the course of the series because she held onto her belief of true love and faith in Sonic, as it's allowed her to get stronger, faster and brought her to the right places at the right times to make a difference in the world. Amy's character exists to show why believing in love is GOOD and why chasing that which your heart yearns is a virtue. If you remove that, she just becomes a collection of disparate unrelated gimmicks.

As someone who's huge into SonAmy, I don't mind the recent changes that much, and giving her something to stand out from the group would indeed be a good idea. I don't know if I'm on board with giving her a completely new personality trait, though. Actually, a version of her that I really like is Boom Amy. Yeah, I know Sonic Boom isn't the best example of deep, complex characters (especially Sonic and Knuckles, as much as I love their characters and their silly moments, they did my boys dirty with Sonic being way too egocentric and Knuckles straight up retarded), but I still liked what they did with Amy. She was often the voice of reason, a kind-hearted woman who would do anything for the people she loves while also being a tickling bomb ready to make you fear for your life you if you rub her the wrong way, and of course her crush on Sonic was given a different approach. While it was still blatantly obvious she loved him, it was way more subtle. We often see her trying to hide her feelings or deflecting the situation when someone else talks about it, but that doesn’t stop her from trying her luck at different times throughout the show. Heck, most of the time, they feel like genuine friends, as she actively calls him out or shows her revultion when Sonic goes too far. And she seems like an integral part of the group. I seriously doubt the show would be the same without her. Also, something that really surprised me was that, this time, it didn't seem to be one-sided. Even if it wasn't as blantant as with Amy, it was still pretty clear he had feelings for her, but of course, being Sonic, he is too scared to accept his feelings or accept any kind of advances Amy may show. Even Sticks and Eggman noticed it and often made remarks on the subject. This is actually really refreshing. They aren't portrayed as an obsesive couple, nor did they remove Amy's feelings. They just added more to her personality, and they actually feel like two good friends getting closer to each other. I think I've rambled too much. My point isn't to just turn Mainline Amy into Boom Amy, after all, she is still a Sonic Boom character and therefore too cartoony for the more serious tone the games have, but it is totally posible to flesh out her character without giving her a radical change or adding an unrelated trait to her. Well, at least you are giving us an actual idea, and here I've got nothing. Sorry, I'm just not very creative. Still, thanks for the video. It was an interesting output.

This is more or less the consequence of how inconsistently written Amy's been throughout the whole franchise. While characters like Knuckles and Shadow got their flanderization during the modern era, Amy post-Adventure games was all over the place in terms of personality and abilities, including her love for Sonic varying between "wants to prove herself to him" to "crazy fangirl stalker" from game to game.

Now that she has gotten past that, she will be pretty much obsolete in the grand scheme of things. Her love for Sonic is what connected her to most of the stories in the series. In the show, she denied her crush on Sonic, but she still had some INSANE BPD. I think they're following up on what's been established in the comics, IDW has introduced a lot of stuff and fleshed out these characters quite a bit, and it seems that SEGA wants to bring over a lot of that into the games. The problem is that a very small percentage of the community reads those, so some of these changes are coming out of the blue blur for them.

Since Frontiers I think Amy and Tails both know they can't rely on Sonic forever which is why they are going their own way. If they want to give Amy a new look why not design something similar to her older Sonic the comic look? Yeah, same, Amy's highly passionate personality and devotion to Sonic were what actually made her an interesting character to me, and her feelings for Sonic gave us some of the best moments in media like Sonic X and Sonic 06. Despite her craziness for Sonic, it's not like it was the only thing that defined her even back then; she still showed a lot of character traits like kindness and feistiness that were visible even when Sonic wasn't involved. This new bio for her has me worried that they're trying to turn her into just another bland "strong and independent girlboss who don't need no man" kind of character, which I think would be really sad. Everyone here seems to be voicing approval of this potential change to Amy's character and claim it's her "maturing," but I worry it's just going to make her bland and less interesting. Maybe we're getting worried over nothing and there won't actually be any noticeably huge differences in her character down the line, including her feelings about Sonic, but I'm not exaggerating when I say reading her new bio for the first time gave a feeling like part of the character had died. I'm not happy with what they wrote for Shadow's bio either. I personally didn't like what they did with all the characters in Sonic Frontiers, which is why it actually made me worry that the game did so well, because I knew Sega would just take this as an indication that they should continue on this path with their characters in all future games. Fans are claiming the characters are "maturing," but all I see is them becoming blander and taking on a more jaded tone that just isn't fitting for the Sonic franchise, if that makes any sense.

I do understand that they're trying to make Amy more mature. While I do commend them for the growth, I just hope they also don't erase what really makes her stand out from the rest as well. Boom Amy was a nice change, but she was slightly bland. Very similar to Frontiers Amy. IDW Amy is really the best depiction of Amy right now. Honestly I love the connection between Amy and the weirdness in the world. I'd love if they put more emphasis on the cards and the insanity of the Piko Piko Hammer and her access to hammerspace, the fact that in SA1 she's the one who could speak to and empathize with Gamma, in SA2 she's the one who can bridge the final gap between the vengeful monster Shadow and the heroic Shadow with a desire to see a world where the people can be happy and at peace, in Frontiers she's the one who opens Sonics eyes to the fact that there's something more to the Cocos than meets the eye and speaks on equal terms with them... the list goes on, and if they did more to drive home the idea that she's kind of in tune with weirdness that borders on inhuman, dark, supernatural, and occult while also being a bright pink, fashionable, and happy everygirl then I think that's a direction to take her where the Sonic obession doesn't have to be her focal point.

It would be fine if Sonic were a conclusive work, but that's not the case. Sonic is a franchise that has remained the same since its beginnings, it's like Mickey Mouse, a character that has existed for many years, but the character remains the same. The same with Amy, if Amy changes too much, then she would stop being Amy, because her infatuation and energetic attitude, was what made her memorable, whether you like that trope or not. Also that modern Amy feels just as much like Tails in many ways.

Being an IDW reader i can say that she is still very much in love with Sonic, that is made clear in various moments where they semi-flirt with each other in there, with her using him as an aspiration, the point about her is that she is more of a "hero" than sonic is, with here constantly looking for people to help, a thing that sonic doesn't do since he just goes around without actively looking for evil things to solve, and even being leader of a planetary effort to combat Eggman called the "restoration" for a while, she is in a position of being the most caring and emphatic character of the crew, being more of the "pure good" character, i personally think that this differenciates her from sonic in a significant way, since it gives the crew someone to Leader them into the trouble directly, since she is more of an active hero

Imma be honest, ive never liked sonic obsessed amy. They really toned her down in Boom, and because of that, she became a lot more relatable and gave her personal character a lot of room to grow, atleast imo. I get the feeling that Sega liked that direction, and i can dig it. Her obsessive nature was, imo, the main thing keeping her from ever being with sonic anyway, so maybe Sega wants to actually take steps towards making that a serious thing, which i also can dig a lot. Obsession based relationships are absolutely terrible and incredibly onesided, and almost always end with one getting burned and hard.

Amy has always been a character that shows her love, not only for sonic but to others in general. Amy has been in love with Sonic since she met him, and that hasn't changed, he is still the one she loves, but she is more conscious, more mature, she can let Sonic go if the situation requires it, like in the IDW, or now in Frontiers. Amy is still the most emotional character, she is driven by her emotions, and that's what's so unique to her, the tarot cards aren't a part of her personality, but like her invisibility in Sonic 06, or her ability to just summon the Piko Piko Hammer(Originally named as "Magic Hammer") or other moves she has had in other games like battle are there to show anotehr part of her personality, the mysticism, the belief in destiny and fate, she uses magic, they even took that and in Sonic and the Black Knight, she is the one representing Nimue, the Lady of the Lake She shouldn't take a Gothic way, I think she should embrace her emotions, and love, the need to help others, her magical abilities and be something more like a Magical Girl, like Sailor Moon or Sakura, but since Sonic Frontiers has taken heavy evangelion inspiration, why don't they make her story take a turn and inspire it more on Madoka for example. That's what could fill that void that is leaving her extreme love for sonic as you've said, she could represent more things like hope and love, having her emotions be the main part of her character like always, but with a twist, having her literally use her emotions as a way of becoming stronger with her magic

Goth is an interesting idea, though I’m not too sure on how well it would go over with Sega or more importantly her character. I completely agree of removing traits and leaving nothing behind is an issue, the same could be said with giving her traits out of the blue, and without a reason of why her personality would change so drastically, even if it’s loosely connected to one other aspect of her. Aka the Tarot cards. Besides her hobby, which many hobbies can be enjoyed by people who don’t fit a singular archetype, I don’t personally see how her character connects to a Goth. If you want to give her traits, I would recommend instead using the little bit of independence that they already have, or the scraps of what remains from when she was infatuated with Sonic. Mostly her reactionary aspects, or as you said, her crazy self. While I wouldn’t keep it as crazy, I would think having it match with her more now stoic could possibly work and as an antithesis to sonic’s easy going nature. While he keeps light and having fun even in perilous situations, even when his friends might be in danger, since Amy is also now a commander her protective side from that combined with her often aggressive side might take situations over-seriously, while still acting like her ‘crazy’ self. I believe something like this would give her a personality of her own, using the pieces that were already given instead.

Imo, they messed up the moment they made Amy "the love interest" and nothing else at her inception. Seriously, compare her to other female characters who aren't designed like this and notice how all of them have more going on for them. Elise, a love interest, is also the princess of a kingdom and the vessel to a fire demon. Cream has Cheese and Gmeral, etc. There is also Sally, Blaze, Rouge, Wave, etc. They all feel fleshed out at their core, unlike Amy, who they're retroactively slapping traits onto because her foundation just isn't enough. And its actually sad because you're right. With her character bio here, Amy is basically just a female Sonic. She is compassionate like him, an adventurer like him, is fast and capable like him, wants thrill like him, etc. It's kinda insane. At best, all she had was wanting to prove herself worthy of his respect, but she doesn't even have that anymore. And giving her back the stalker trait is a no-no because people hated Amy for it. Even when you ask Sonamy fans how their relationship can work if Sonic wants to be "free to live life by his own rules", some just say "Sonic can still go on adventures while Amy can be the place he returns to" like she's a military wife or something. That's not good imo. I dunno, I feel bad for Amy, but that's what happens when your character's main purpose is to be the love interest. Mha fans know this well.

Maybe frontiers gonna let us dive her into her character move and the new games moving foward, I can see her having some dark side now she can still be happy go lucky but makes some snarky and some dark jokes here and there like she does in the comics. They calmed Amy down a lot from chasing Sonic everytime she catches a glimpse of him, but she still has feelings for the him. The new update to Frontiers even showed it a bit in one of Amy's side conversations with Sage. Sage mentions that Amy is an "admirer" of Sonic, and Amy responds by asking in an almost terrtorial way if Sage was a fellow "admirer" too. Also, the second part of her bio is woke as heck, especially if it is a copy and paste of Sonic's with name changes. We'll have to see the next game to see where they take her character to. Hopefully those arcs they alluded to at the end of Frontiers won't be all talk.

Honestly, I'm cool with her new angle. The fortune cards thing feels odd, BUT IT FEELS RELATED TO CARD CAPTORS. Aesthetically, she feels very adjacent to magical girls (which were big in the 90's and ties into the general neo-90's feel that I feel they are trying to bring to the franchise). I like how she is almost literally a female counterpart of sonic and the little feminist in me is happy that her character no longer hinges on another character. More importantly, it feels like we have the groundwork for her to become this kinda cutesy "kind witch of the east" mixed with... actually being a pugilist/bruiser on par with knuckles with her hammer. I think Sage will be the new “goth girl” character if she stays around going going forward. If they’re trying to push the tarot cards again they should make her believe in things like “fate” and “destiny” which she always kind of did when it came to sonic but now she should think that about all things in life. She should basically just be an astrology girl who romanticises life itself rather than sonic. That way you still keep some of the heart of the character but with less of the craziness.

I feel like one of the major hurdles with Amy is that she is clearly being considered a part of the court cast, meaning there's extra pressure to be as distinct from the other core members as possible. If you think about it, Shadow and Blaze are pretty similar on a superficial level, as both are stoic, serious, and aloof, but this is fine that's not part of the car cast. There secondary members that only sow up occasionally, so the allowed to be differentiated through subtler factors. But since Amy, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are the faces of the franchise, the ones people going to be seeing the most often, the ones people are the most likely to compare themselves to, it's extra important for them to be distinct. To do this, they need to be distinguished in terms of core traits, personality traits that that inform most, if not all of their actions. I think characters are allowed to have two or three or traits, so don't have to all be different from every other character's core traits, but it's still good to make them as stupid as possible. I think the best place to start is with the further defining the core trait Sega is currently focusing on, which is the trait that is the biggest reason why most Amy fans are fans of her, and the trade most similar to one of Sonic's core trades, that being her empathy. Well Sonic is _kind,_ and that he'll go out of his way to help out/protect those in need, and fight those that would hurt the innocent, but Amy is clearly way more _empathetic,_actively feeling/understanding the emotions people are going through. A logical way to extend this is to give her high emotional intelligence. Sonic has always had average to above average emotional intelligence, we can assume Amy has even higher emotional intelligence, sensor two biggest moments in the game series involve her reforming villains. So it makes sense to character as a sort of emotional super genius, someone who truly understands emotions and how they work. If you need to perform a villain, Amy's your go-to girl, If someone's in a depressive state, she will also be a go-to girl. I can also see this creating interesting conflict if she interacts with a creature with a truly alien emotional system, it sort of alien creature whose metal faculties work nothing like human (for furry?) emotions, thus rendering them completely incomprehensible to Amy, likely starting an existential conflict, while Sonic would likely just defeat them and move on. While taking inspiration from the past, Sonic X was clearly influential on the writing of the Sonic games of its time. One of the core trace that added to her was a short temper, which was implemented in a way that made her distinct from Knuckles, but not always in a good way… While many instances of her going range mode where more understandable than many people would make out (like that time is Sonic Riders were Sonic pretty much left Amy for dead), I feel like it's fair to say most would agree that it wasn't implemented perfectly well in that era. But I still think it could work If you narrowed her berserk mode to specifically when she's under pressure, or when her friends/innocent lives are in danger. That one seen in Sonic Adventure where Amy breeds the Trinkle Park sign and decides to rush in indicates a sort of "flakiness" (for lack of a better term) that's distinct from Sonic's impulsive behavior in a way that's hard to articulate (the best I could come up with is that Amy essentially saw something that interested her, and then incorporated that to solve the situation without putting too much thought into it). Neither of these things I would make core traits, but they could make for my secondary trades to add a little extra depth. I feel like a good reference to take information from would be the female protagonist (can't remember her name, and I've already spent enough time on this comment) from the anime Toilet Bound Hanniko-kun (going to as soon as it's close enough to Google), who is a character I can best describe as "in love with the concept of love" (a term I borrowed from the anime Soul Eater Not, was has a protagonist who describes herself with this phrase but fell to manifest in any meaningful way). The protagonist even thought she was in love with a guy, but then realized she was so infatuated with the concept of love that she convinced himself he was in love with the cutest guy who went to her school, which is superficially similar to what could be applied happen with Amy. The title character (who is not the same guy the female protagonist was infatuated with) even has the same energy as Sonic, which is some interesting food for thought. Well I'm commenting, I feel like saying that Cream the Rabbit should be reincorporated as part of the main cast. Maybe they can make her really smart on biological stuff to contrast Tail's obsession and expertise with electronic/mechanical stuff. Maybe she can even want to become a doctor one day? I think that would be neat.

Massive Comment, Amy has been part of the core cast since at least Sonic Adventure. I agree Cream should return to being the 5th Member of the Main Cast like she was during the 2000s. Cream's connection to Chao make her incredibly important considering that they are descended from The Ancients. While Cream becoming a doctor someday seems interesting, it is probably something we'll never see just because of the slowed timeline of the series. It would be nice if the canon reason she wasn't in the games for the past 10 Years was that she was too busy with school to join her friends on Adventures.

the "he's still number one in her heart" bit actually makes me think they're taking this less in the "she has moved on, all is said and done" and more of a way where she's just kinda opening up to more options. what they settle on for how her character grows is something they gotta figure out, like you said, can't take away that trait without giving her something else when Sonic is right there, but I also don't feel like she needs to have it immediately, I think she could do with some self reflection and prioritising of goals and ambitions

Sonic is not a conclusive thing, it's a franchise. So things stay as they are, but with very slight changes. It's like Mickey Mouse, which is a character that's been around for many years, but it's still the same character as always, but slight changes, it's the same with Sonic. Besides Amy was already independent, since Adventure 1, heck she even has her own house and lived alone.

I like how she is depicted in the IDW comics when it comes to her feelings for Sonic, and honestly prefer they go with that direction than whenever she should be thirsty for Sonic or not. As a SonAmy fan myself, I prefer Amy being honest with her feelings over denying them. A denial-crush "will they, won't they?" trope is just too over-done to fall back on. (This was my concern in Twitter Takeover #6 where Amy behaved more like her Boom-self over her feelings for Sonic over her regular self.) But I also agree her obsessive behaviour has been overdone to a degree, and it's not doing her any favours with Sonic pushing her away every time she openly thirsts for him. But in IDW, they seemed to achieve a middle ground that I like. In issue 2, Amy tries to convince Sonic to return to lead the Resistance, but Sonic refuses. Amy is still somewhat flirty, but she wants him to lead the resistance than her own interests. In the end, when Sonic tells her why he must do what he's currently doing over leading the Resistance, she relents, saying she can't change Sonic, doesn't want him to change and that's why she loves him so. To my surprise, Sonic offers for Amy to company him on his adventure and to further surprise, Amy turns him down because she knew the Resistance need her. As a SonAmy fan who can accept she is growing out of her clingy-phase, instead of giving up on Sonic I simply like her being less clingy with Sonic and more responsible as a hero. She could still tease Sonic and enjoy romantic moments with him, just no longer be clingy or driven about it.

I'm just glad that they decided to actually go through with the change of Amy not chasing after Sonic anymore. I was hoping for a change into that direction, I just hope that they'll keep it that way. Also, her being the "crazy fangirl" was always annoying to me at least. Taking this aspect away, they can add something entirely new to Amy's character. I'd say we should wait and see what SEGA will do with Amy moving forward because we can't just decided over how a character should be at the end of the day. And I'm happy about the change, that's all I can say.

Honestly it sounds like how she is in the comic. She doesn't chase Sonic, is the leader of the resistance, and like Sonic, if she sees someone in trouble, she'll focus on the problem. She tells Sonic to leave her behind to do something more important a few time troughtout. You don't need to chase someone yo show you love them

I think Amy is still different from Sonic despite the new direction because we know that both can be empathic towards others but the difference between them is that Sonic represents a free spirit or a symbol of freedom, Amy represents more compassion, love, while also being more patient than Sonic which is seen in Frontiers and the IDW comics.

The whole concept of relationships in the sonic universe is stupid to me. They're cartoony animal people who fight robots, we don't need to go nuts fuguring out who goes with who. I don't care.
