ahh what memories, for the amount of time i spent playing this and the joy i got from it, probably my fave game of all time, hands, pro-form, roll out pass, this game made me an NFL fan

My favorite Madden game ever. Lots of good times being ten years old playing this for hours for weeks in a row. The ambulance made this game great too.

This was the very first Genesis game I ever bought way back then. I remember thinking the snow looked so realistic.

I'm playing through all the Madden Football games on the Sega Genesis, and Madden '92 is currently my favorite. This is really the game where the series hits its stride; games are fast and tense, full of surprises and exciting moments. The feel of the game is quite similar to NHL Hockey, which was also released in 1991. Fortunately, you can download all these Genesis games for free, or score the cartridges for a couple bucks. Either way, it's a big win.

Oh man, I remember getting this game and me and my twin would laugh to death when the ambulance ran the players over! My son and I play the new maddens, but to me this was the best.

Buffalo had a Killer Squad - Thurman Thomas was Fast as hell and the Reverse Sweep with Don Bebe was Serious!

Games sure have come a long way since this. But I do miss Sega. I also miss the the Nintendo game deck. My first was an Atari 2600, which I still have, but it doesn't work anymore.

Ok. up until 4am on Friday , Saturday nights 2 liter pepsi, chinees food and chips, cigaretts , senior year in HS... those were the days......Miss them alot, to top it off, having my cousin over were burned out the genisis console......wow!!!!!!!!

Tecmo superbowl rules all. Madden is great, and it keeps getting better (and more f'n complicated!) but it all started with these NES giants.

There was a play I used to run in Madden '92 that was unstoppable, both against AI and against humans (as long as I didn't run the well dry).. I'd select 'Cross Pass' and then roll out to the left sideline and make a hard throw down the left sideline to the left wideout, who would always be wide open. Good for 20 yards every time. That wasn't the way the 'Cross Pass' was designed to be run but it worked. Call it an exploitation play.

While writing this and all the rest I was very aware that the hooks, pulse, hormones, time-frame and quality of the 'instruments' all shared a lot with porno music. I don't think the porno composers had to think their way to this place though, of which I was envious.

It's still better than Madden 09, 2k5 with updated and classic rosters is phenomenal for the old xbox. I can't calculate the amount of hours I played Madden on Genesis though, I still have Madden Championship Edition as well as this game and others.
