Category 1: Games/Levels where increased Rotating BackGround resolution *is* effective + Saturn CD Player (Saturn Nebula behind starfield) + Virtua Fighter 2 (Arena Floor) + Virtua Fighter Kids (Arena Floor) + Dead or Alive (Arena Floor) + FIGHTERS MEGAMiX (Arena Floor) + LAST BRONX (Arena Floor + Ceiling) + D-Xhird (Arena Floor) + GRANDIA (Floors) + Sonic JAM: Sonic World (Flat Grassy Field) + ASTAL: R31 Volcanic Valley / R31 Kazan (Heat Wave on Mountain) + ASTAL: R32 Guardian of Fire / R32 Daikaryu (Heat Wave on Flames/Plasma in Background) + ASTAL: R51 The Plains of Destiny / R51 Dekamushi (Parched Ground Plane) + Decathlete (Sports Fields) + Greatest Nine / World Series Baseball series (Ballfields) (There is a problem with field shading, but they render Hi-Res.) + Vatlva (Arena Floor) + Virtua Cop 2 (Floor) + Bulk Slash (Floor) I have detected the following cases where using high-resolution Rotating BackGround does not result in a higher resolution view of Rotating BackGround ('Fit to Emulation Resolution' @ 2160p): Category 2: Games/Levels where increased Rotating BackGround resolution is *not* effective - SONIC R: Resort Island, Radical City, Regal Ruin, Reactive Factory (Ground Plane) - ASTAL: R23 The Forest Fiend / R23 Hana Boss (Purple Spiral Cloud) - ASTAL: R22 Sea of Clouds / R22 Unkai (Red Spiral Cloud) - ASTAL: R52 Destiny Unfolds / R52 vs Geist (White Scrolling Clouds) - Virtua Fighter Remix: All Stages (Fighting Ring) - Albert Odyssey: Title Screen (Map + Clouds) - Virtual On (Arena Floor) - Radiant Silvergun (When camera rotates, partway through the first 'Warning' boss.) Category 3: Games/Levels where increased Rotating BackGround resolution is *partially* effective This means that although a difference is clear when the camera is high above the Rotating BackGround, the resolution appears to still be low the closer we get to the R-BG. What I mean is that we can observe low-resolution aliasing on individual R-BG texels and also that more distant texels do not grow smaller as our screen's resolution allows them to. - Panzer Dragoon: All Episodes (Ground plane) - Panzer Dragoon II: All Episodes (Ground plane) - Panzer Dragoon Saga: Campsite Floors, Caravan Floor, Desert Floor, Zoah Floor, Canyon Clouds, Forbidden Zone Water, etc. - Gebockers (Arena is largely not improved, however resolution outside the arena is much higher resolution.) - Wing Arms (Ocean is higher res, but not as much as it ought to be.) Category 4: Games/Levels where increased Rotating BackGround resolution distorts a manipulation effect: - GRANDIA: Game Arts Logo - Panzer Dragoon Saga: Name Entry / Game Over Sestren background -̶ ̶Q̶U̶A̶K̶E̶:̶ ̶(̶C̶l̶o̶u̶d̶s̶)̶ (This was fixed in 2.5.0)

I’m finding Yabasanshiro to be fairly unstable, far more than Beetle which sucks as Beetle provides no video options but tends to be a solid experience. Could only get a few to run in higher rez in YabaS, and one I did lagged and eventually froze (Panzer Dragoon Zwei), Saga won’t even boot up as it does in Beetle (kicks me to the Saturn dashboard with a “no disk” error as if I were running a .CUE instead of a .CHD), and various other games hang. Though I haven’t experimented with the settings all that much in YabaS, what’s the best resolution increase to performance ratio? Saturn emulation is already incredibly processor intensive. I’d like to play them in higher resolution even if only marginally so as they are an eyesore, but don’t know the best way to go about it. Mednafen, Retroarch, SSF. At least I can play them. Eh. Get a foot, want a mile.

@@TheSaturnJunkyard Yup, but I need to click in the OK button, then immediately the emulator close. It happend with Bulkslash, Burning Rangers and Sega Rally. Phantasy Star Colletion workd fine even after clicking in the OK button (it doesn't use the feature, perhaps?)

This recurse is not working on xbox series x, crashing the emulator all the time tha a put it on. The max that I can get is 2X. Does anyone now some mod to play it with comput shader rgb on on xbox series? Thanks
