1st let me say I'm a SEGA fanboy but my god. Come on SEGA. I was honestly initially so hyped for this when one of the 1st games announced was Virtua Fighter. I thought finally! We're going to see alot more of those late 90s 3D games come home! I was especially hoping we would see Virtua Striker 1 included as it was never released on a home console and was extremely popular in Japan. I would of purchased this for that game alone. Instead we got a bunch of 80s games we've literally seen on 100 other consoles, compilations and plug and plays. To say I'm so disappointed is a massive understatement.

@@michaelsierra9 Sega has a great relationship with Disney and probably could get the license for Star Wars like they did with the Mickey Mouse games on the Genesis Mini. Couldn't agree more, dude. These arcade versions have not come home intact many times, if at all. This is not Sega's usual compilation. Even despite the imperfect selection, it's still way more positive than negative.

As I said before the full list revealed, it was impossible to include Model 2 games and up, so it stuck with mostly the basics and some other odd choices. Only good if (when) its been hacked.

Even with no Model 2, or St-v board games, there were plenty of other great System 32 and model 1 titles Sega has left on the bench.

Crackdown seems like a less playable clone of "The Chaos Engine"
@leecroft19834 жыл бұрын
The Chaos Engine, now that's a gem from the past no one talks about. Awesome game, i actually have it got the Mega Drive. That needs to be ported to modern systems.

I belive Crackdown came out a few years before the Chaos Engine.

Crackdown for Arcade and Mega Drive/Genesis came out in 1989, Chaos Engine came out in 1993 so Chaos Engine may have been inspired from it along with other games like it.

Crackdown is decent, especially working together with a friend. I like to think of it as a Gain Ground sequel - kind of.

I'm sold for this mini device. Also, the list of arcade games is great but A: They should've add SegaSonic the Hedgehog (System 32, which was an arcade-exclusive Sonic game, although having two games with the word "Sonic" in the title might confused the hell outta people otherwise) and Heavy Metal (System 2, an underappreciated yet interesting arcade game by Sega in the 80s which never ported on home systems) instead of Alex Kidd in Miracle World and My Hero. And B: It seems that this device goes a bit overboard with puzzle games, don't you think? But then again like you said, puzzle games are popular in Japan. But other than that, as a Sega arcade fan, I will definitely gonna buy the Astro City Mini.

I wish they represented the early 3D era a bit more, but I'd be happy with the lineup if I was considering buying one. I'm curious as to what it could do if/when it gets hacked. Sonic The Fighters or Fighting Vipers would be killer

I ordered it just for the sweet controller. I got the cab too, but man that controller gets me excited.

She's a winner for sure. I don't think many people in this comment section have played it.

Baku Baku Animal would have been nice to see but I'm all over this due to the Wonder Boy games and Revenge Of Death Adder.

I probably put 50 bucks of coins into Gain Ground in Japan, and the arcade is so much slicker than Genesis.

I agree with Virtua Fighter, its the one I am the most excited about. One of my fav games and hopefully much better than to my dissapointed sega saturn version

I really don't appreciate how much your personal judgement bled into this with entries like Alex Kidd etc. Otherwise it was a great video and helped me a lot with figuring out what I'm getting into.

The channel is entirely about my opinions. I mean, why would I want to do this if I didn't share how I felt about the games? I'm never disrespectful about those opinions to the people that disagree so I'm not sure why it would bother you that I do not like a game like Alex Kidd The Lost Stars.
@Steve-Fiction4 жыл бұрын
@@SegaLordX I am not under the impression that videos like this are purely about your opinions. It's informatory, no? And while I appreciate you stating "it has it's fans" or "I know some of you enjoy it", I feel like it's still disrespectful when in the next breath you call it a "trash game" (sometimes even more harsh).
@theoldpainless44564 жыл бұрын
They had to made it an overpriced mini console with no gamepad included...as awesome as some of those games are, i'm disapointed with the direction retrogaming takes...i agree with you, those games do not deserve to be forgotten...but we also deserve reasonable prices...i gave enough to Sega, time for them to see us as loyal fans, not cows you can milk at will. Nice vid as always man, keep tje good work.

I don't understand the hate that the Genesis version of Alien Storm gets. For what it is I think it's better than most (not all) of the other beat em ups on the system. I've never played the arcade version but to me it looks very similar.
@HellTantrumbull4 жыл бұрын
My friend and I used to play the genesis version all the time back in the day and we had a lot of fun learning how to beat the game without losing a life too. I still have the cart too and love to be able to play it again with someone. The arcade version is really good too but too bad none of the arcade I used to go to back then ever had it. >_>

I got the English version from Limited Run. I missed out on the controller. I wonder if the Japanese controller will work with the system?
