Segment of Trail

Apache Junction, AZ - Goldfield Mts, - Wolverine Trailhead - Bulldog Canyon
This hike took place on October 3, 2024.
The video begins by showing a map of the trail. It resembles the shape of a geometric right triangle. The vertical line represents Forest Road 1356, about 1.25 miles in length. The horizontal line represents Trail 307, estimated at 0. 90miles. The hypotenuse represents Trail 307 connecting with Trail 308 somewhere in the middle, approximately 1.55 miles, if my math is correct. Considering trail direction variations, the hike would actually be 4 - 5 miles.
This video focuses on the middle section of the hypotenuse. Why is that you ask?
Because there are only two trail signs that I could find for Trail 307. The first is the trail sign off the Wolverine Trailhead a few yards north of the gate. This would be the beginning of a counterclockwise loop hike. The second is actually a dual sign for both 308 and 307 trails.
If you take the clockwise loop hike along the FR1356 and follow Trail 308 it will bring you to the same trails' junction. Therein lies the problem! The sign correctly directs Trail 308 to the east, but the Trail 307 "arrow" points west. That is INCORRECT. The arrow leads to a road NOT a trail. Trail 307 actually begins 100 feet east of the trails' junction. I only discovered this by taking the trail that you are about to view, By the way, I reversed the arrow to point east so future hikers would not be misled.
On a previous clockwise hike, I bushwhacked south up to the ridge. I followed a road east and noticed a trail heading north. This is the trail you see in the video. On that day I did not have the time or stamina, temperatures were rising, so I continued my hike to the trailhead.
Now, about today's hike. It begins from the road junction, NO SIGN, but I did place a stick in the ground to bring attention to the trail. I followed the trail down to a road junction. That's when I realized that the twin trail junction was just a short distance to the east.
A trail sign at the north and south terminus of this trail would help. At least, the clockwise hikers will notice that the ARROW for Trail 307 POINTS EAST.
