The King of Fighters Story - Behind KOF 97, 96, Orochi and Goenitz

[TURN ON THE SUBTITLE] The story of The King of Fighters is not iori and Chizuru against Orochi, Rugal and Goenitz either. Since KOF 98 and 2002 show something from KOF 97 which is one of the favorite King of Fighters. KOF XV and KOF All Stars also show beyond combos and gameplay. The King was inspired by Yamata No Orochi and Kyo in Susanoo, including his appearance in KOF 15 and KOF 99. Summary
Orochi is a god who wants to come back to life to take revenge on the humans who sealed him away. He has the help of the 8 hakkesshu for this. Leader Goenitz sought out Rugal to test him and gave him power. Rugal made The King of Fighters 94 and then KOF 95 and ended up consumed by the power of Orochi.
Chizuru decided to gather the sacred treasures in King of Fighters 96, but Goenitz intervenes and is defeated by her, Kyo and Iori together. In The King 97 the hakkesshu Yashiro, Shermie and Chris activate the Orochi blood in Iori and Leona to attack everyone and threaten to use Yuki, Kyo's girlfriend and descendant of the Kushinada, as a sacrifice. Kyo, Iori and Chizuru fight them, but Chris offers his body. Orochi comes back and fights against the sacred treasures in KOF 97 and ends up defeated. He activates Iori's curse, but the Yagami uses it to grab Orochi. Chizuru prepares the ritual and Kyo delivers the finishing blow.
The Orochi Saga is inspired by the Japanese legends of Susanoo and Yamata No Orochi. Susanoo was a god banished from the heavens who found old people crying because his daughter would have to be sacrificed to Yamata No Orochi. The warrior offered to defeat the monster if he had Kushinada's hand in marriage. The elderly accepted, made the strongest wine they could and put it in barrels.
When Yamata No Orochi arrived, he drank the wines and fell asleep. Susanoo emerged and cut off the serpent's heads. From her belly he took the Yasakani No Magatama and created a mirror that he gave to Kushinada's sister. Then he found a sword called Kusanagi No Tsurugi that he gave to his sister Amaterasu.
There are depictions of Yamata No Orochi in Naruto, One Piece, and Marvel vs Capcom 3.
