Was thinking about the Seibon myself, but after watching this, Ive changed my mind. The VIS looks way better and I love how the top vents are blocked off to keep water from coming in to the engine bay. Big question is - did you end up installing Aerocatch hood pins? Seibon recommends those, but I dunno about VIS. Second, whats the weight difference between CF and the OEM?

Its been 7 months since this video. How have the hoods held up? I am interested in the VIS hood but want to make sure no major defects or issues have occurred. It seems like the 3 major choices would be Seibon, Varis or VIS.

I have the Varis CF hood and these 2 are copies of it right? Especially the one on the left exactly looks like it. The fitment on the Varis thou is spot on no big gaps on the sides. The quality of the carbon fiber is amazing. Do you plan on installing hood pins? Or is it safe to run it as is? Was the screen on the vents already installed when you got it? Mine came with screen for the vents for the sides only and you have to cut it to fit. Didnt install it, looks nice too without it.

From their official website. Most of their CF hoods weigh around 15 pounds but of course, if you have a bigger car it'll weight a little more.

What fuel upgrades are needed to run the aftermarket cold air intake with Cobb downpipe and invidia r400 exhaust on my 17 sti
@nickslosubi6906 жыл бұрын
Never hurts to have a pump and injectors. Also get a Fuel pressure Regulator installed like the aeromotive unit (fuel injection model). It can be tuned without fuel upgrades but your power gain will be small because you need more fuel for the more air your turbo will push in. Also get a grimspeed 3port EBCS to help controll boost or even an external wastegate setup is best (I have one 38mm is great!)
