TamaP is most definitely top 15 after this tournament. He also has a 4th and 5th at P-tier events on his back. Also, TamaP has made top 8 at every event he's been to this season, except for Umebura where he placed 49th.

Don't get me wrong, I loved competitive smash last year. Seeing the race between Sparg0 and Acola in half 1 of 2023 and how Acola just barely reclaimed the #1 spot right before the season ended with his own Seibugeki win after Sparg0 underperformed at Crown was a thrill the entire way through. However, I'd be lying if I said it never felt repetitive. No hate to the horsemen, they're all brilliant players who deserved their rankings and placements, but it did feel stale at times with the only new major winner last year being Zomba. This season, however, we have so much more variety. We have 7 new major winners this season, those being Shadic, Hurt, Raru, MuteAce, Doramigi, Shinymark, and TamaPDaifuku. Like I said, I loved last year, but after Smash Con specifically, it did lose some entertainment value because I knew Sparg0 wasn't overtaking Acola on the year long ranking

A few interesting things about the three majors. All three 1st seats were upset. All three 2nd seats placed their seats All three winners gave their characters their first solo win All three winners won their first major Both Japanese majors had a Yoshi in 3rd place All three 3rdcplace were Japanese, notable because S-factor only had 2 Japanese players. None of the winners (Shinny Mark, Doramigi & Tama-P Daifuku) are likely to be top 10, while all three second place ( Sonix, Raru & Shuton) will be.

TamaP was already around the top 15 even before this past weekend, and he might have cracked his way into the top 10. Doramigi was hanging around top 20-25, and now will almost assuredly be in the top 20 or even top 15. ShinyMark, on the other hand, is a conundrum because he has entered so few events. Sure, he won S Factor 11 (S+) and Diamond Dust (B+), but he got 33rd at Comicpalooza Fight Club (B)...and that's it for his appearances at B tiers and above. Sure, he won the four Guatemalan C-tier tournaments he entered, but that's not the sort of data you need when trying to rank some of the best players in the world. No doubt ShinyMark will be ranked rather high, but I have no clue where he'll actually end up. Perhaps they could treat him like SSBMrank did Leffen in 2023 and make him an honorable mention for top 10 or top 15 while acknowledging that they lacked enough data to properly rank him, but I doubt the Lumirank team would actually do this.

Apparently his S Factor attendance was the minimum amount of attendance for him to be ranked. Ironically, it's also by far his best achievement. He'll be ranked, but I've no idea where he'll end up. It'll be high, I'd expect.

Interesting that the top two this season could be someone who’s attended like three events all year to avoid upsets and didn’t travel and someone who hasn’t won a tournament all year and didn’t travel, honestly attending events should actually be rewarded like how ATP tennis rankings work and tbh Miya should be number one and Sparg0 and Zomba shouldn’t be ranked worse for actually leaving NA compared to the NA players who didn’t attend a single tournament in the same period

Edit: nvm, I hasn't followed hurt's results as closely, I assumed he only had 3 major wins and didn't go to much tournaments (I somehow didn't watch the tournaments he entered). Though after seeing his results properly, I'm really hoping he's at least top 4 or top 5
