I have one also. Reserved one at my Local AD as soon as I learned of it in the spring of ‘20. Regarding the movement, mine was a bit erratic when new, much like you’ve experienced. My 149 was a near-daily wear up until August, when I purchased the new Seiko 5 GMT. Anyway, after a couple of months it really settled in and it consistently gave + 5-6 spd performance. I’ve only seen one SPD149 in the wild (at the Heathrow Duty Free) so yeah, I believe it’s not ‘common’. One more thing: I love the BB58 and wanted one badly, but the 149 is perfect, and I can’t justify spending another $3000 (although that’s a very reasonable price)! Thanks!

Glad my video helped. Honestly, as much as I like the bb58, it’s not for me. I prefer this seiko. Outside of the movement, its everything and more than the Tudor. Albeit, I hate the seiko clasp with a passion.

I really really wished seiko upgraded their clasps there shouldn't be any stamped parts!!! and I also really hate that diver extension, it's fugly Also you are lucky there is no lume at 3 o'clock beside the date window like they do with newer watches, it really messes with symmetry My only favourite seiko diver is spb151, the OG Willard its just magnificent, I want to pickup one soon

Glad someone else is saying it with me. I don’t know how that clasp is ignored by so many reviewers. It’s really ugly and awkward.

@@horologyproject the worst part is the sound when you open and close it, compare it to a nice milled clasps sound, very sharp and reassuring

I like it, i know it is vintage inspired, but I don't like crown at 3 o clock. I have 9 Seikos all crowns positioned at 4 o clock.

It’s nice to have someone different then the pack.
