I love how he did a full yugioh card combo, enemy targets Amu, he activates his spell card which takes on the negative effects instead, he transfers it to a monster that when destroyed carries curses in it's blood to infect himself to activate his trap card to counter attack, obviously not 1:1 with yugioh, but that really do be the sort of shit you run into in meta decks these days

Actually... it's plainly obvious he isn't the "good guy". He says a multitude of times that he has no care/emotion for the people of the world, and he JUST wants to live a life away from prying eyes. He manipulates the hero into being his "shield of light" so that he can hide in her shadow. He has a servant who does his every whim, and loves him, as to make his life easier. He has a strong gravity magic user that can also be a sort of shield of light. And then in the end of it all, it's discovered he's in the body/is actively the DEVIL KING; this attributes to his insane spiritual power, his psycho-mode outbreaks, and his ability to curse people even without their hair or blood or anything of the such. The anime shows, in its entirety, *he is not the good guy*. He is entirely the bad guy playing good so as to have a nice life.

@@leahalenia5074 He constantly goes above and beyond, acting in ways that do not benefit him and in fact would draw attention to himself in order to help people - people other than Amu. He isn't a bad guy playing good, but a good guy playing bad. He's intelligent and manipulative, but while those traits are often used in villains, that doesn't make him a bad person. Even the people he cruelly kills off were all either demons, or people who had attempted to murder children. In his original world he was so powerful that despite being an onmyoji that protects people and defeats yokai and other monsters, he was feared, plotted against, and betrayed, and he comes to this new world fearing the pain of betrayal again. He feels that a life dedicated to people who would kill him in their envy and fear of his overwhelming power, like in his last one, is a life wasted, yet he proves that he can't truly internalize that belief. That he can't stand by and ignore those in need even if he thinks he wants to. People calling him a 'bad guy' here, but can you honestly name a single time he acted in an unjustified way?
