I think part of why mynes anger hits so hard is that she is a logical capable adult. She knows her magic is able to kill that man. That's what she wants. It isn't some child losing control and being unable to retract it's someone with the strength to pull away but is actively making the decision to stay.

I love the Vader theme, a great touch! What I really like about this scene is that you only really fully understand everything about this scene much later. For one, the fact that She can overwhelm Ferdinand's mana is really important to why Ferdinand takes certain actions, as well as one of few times he is genuinely afraid and not in control of the situation. The more you learn about noble culture and how Ferdinand thinks, the more his reaction actually makes sense. Since nobles always hide their emotions and if she were to kill the scumbag, it is obvious she and her parents would be executed. From a noble point of view they should be deathly afraid of angering those of higher status for just this reason. Later on, the same thing is shown with Damuel, who is a low ranked noble, versus Shikza, who is of higher rank. Despite going against orders, Damuel still could not afford to go against a higher ranked noble that has a family that could make his life either very unpleasant or very short. Ferdinand meanwhile, has no frame of reference for a commoner's point of view, nor that Main/Myne would rather die than let her new parents and sister be killed because of her. Especially now that she considers them to be real family and that she owes them a great debt for accepting her despite all the weirdness she shows, being a young adult in a child's body.

It's amazing what knowing later parts of the story let's you unravel about character motivations earlier in the story. Spoiler: _ _ _ _ _ _ Ferdinand's shocked expression when Myne started crushing wasn't to the fact that she was crushing the high priest. To perform the crushing you need more mana than your target and the high priest had very little so for a girl with the devouring it wasn't too shocking. No what actually happened, is that nobles can sense when someone has more mana than them, this is why only Damuel was able to sense the source of mana in the forest as he had the lowest mana. But they have a hard time reading the mana of children, unless their mana is surging. When Myne let go and started crushing the high priest Ferdinand knew Myne had significantly more mana than him. He knew at that point that Myne could and would overpower him. As a reminder Ferdinand is no slouch in the mana department so this actually scared Ferdinand.

That dirt field had just held a 'moving tree' that grows and moves at such rapid rates that it drains the nutrients, mana, and life force of anything within its radius or whatever it touches with its branches/tendrils. That entire area had been rendered sterile and bereft of life, mana, or any sort of sustainability. Left alone, it would take years to decades for it to recover. Using her own mana (because there was none ambient in the area) she not only replenished the life force of the area, spawned new life to help sustain it, but was still going when the Head Priest cut her off. It was a pretty good show of her level of power versus what people (more specifically nobles) considered those who have power to begin with. So it would be more apt to say it could bring back life to an area of death.

I feel like that is a mistranslation from the novel you read, because Ferdinand has more mana than she does and he was still hit by it. IIRC, the novel I read (from bookwalker) said that having less mana means you have no defense against it, not that it doesn't affect you at all if you are even or have more. Which makes sense, since Bezewanst is seriously lacking in the mana department.

I assume that was because during the dedication they're both putting out so much power it's dangerous for anyone else. I would expect him to be stronger. She may have a better mana compression technique, but he's been doing it longer. Plus, the only reason he's in the temple is politics, unlike the other nobles. I think her mana level was originally at the lesser noble stage, but her compression has increased it to mid to upper level.

I loved the first scene, and when I saw the second scene I at first thought "no way this works" but power coming off the staff in sync with the music, the looks of fear in the knights eyes, and the wave of "creepy" green grass starting to overgrow everything...before Ferdinand stoped her...totaly fit. She actually helps him become stronger by (spoilers) teaching him a more advanced form of mana suppression (spoilers end). I think Rozemyne is the most powerful and most talented mage in the series but I'm also 90% sure the series is eventually going to pair them together since (spoilers) they are the only two people powerful enough to procreate with each other (spoilers end).

When I first posted this I tried with the intention to have the music I put over it, to drown out the other background music but due to me not realizing that not only did I drown out the background music, but also the character voice lines as well so I had to take it down and reupload it and try to make it were we could hear the characters while the music was playing downside being you still kind of hear the original soundtrack behind it so I had to find a compromise and this is the best I could do! I hope that's alright!

This anime has a rather interesting take on isekai that I really like. The actual powerlessness she faces due to the system despite being OP herself knowledgeable-wise and mana-wise. The different take on magic and how mana is used in the world. I've caught up to all of the anime so I am really looking forward to a new season

It is an Isekai anime based off of a series of Japanese light novels. The young girl is the main character. In the first episode she is a modern Japanese librarian and lover books. She dies and wakes up as a sickly five year old in a medieval village. It’s a small village and they go deeply into studies of the civilization, and the people. And as you can see in the video after five or six episodes she discovers all this magic in this world. And we learned that this isn’t the past.

This whole scene was better action animation that I expected from this show. It was a good reminder that Myne's isekai dad is a soldier, with his hand-to-hand combat skills, and Myne's magical powers are well animated also

Yes the animation seems so simple at first, but everything was executed so well. You really could tell the difrence between a trained soldier and a bunch of assistant preists... the assistants got messed up. And Myne's magic is not really fighting... it is one blessed by the gods letting just a little bit lose when she could probaly kill everyone in the room. Magic and fighting rarly get used in this show, but when used it is crushingly effective.

*Light spoilers* It's not so much that she flexed her magical muscle, it's just that Shikza was really that weak. Many of the people there - with the proper prayer - could have managed at least most of what she did (with several likely being able to exceed her). They were surprised to see a priest able to do it, though, since priests are generally pretty weak. The exception to this is Ferdinand, who has a mana capacity above Myne. Also Sylvester (the blue priest that has been in a couple season 3 episodes)..... who has a higher mana capacity than Ferdinand for reasons that will become known at the end of this season.

@@absentmindedjwc spoilers About the Myne's mana capacity, I believe that at this moment yes, she has less mana than Ferdinand, but that was changed during the sleep, I think that during her journey to get the magic wand is where is confirmed that her mana is absurd (but the people thought that was because other week constitution), where her mana was liquified, and after that was the new compression method also

But it is assumed that she catches up (and surpasses him) quickly as time goes on. Ferdinand is still growing given the compression method working on adults, but it was mentioned that the primary growth phase of mana was through the teenage years. She’ll absolutely pass him… but I do not believe she’s there quite yet.

The prayer was basically her preparation speech before she started to go all out, when for others the speech is the part where they pour all of their power and concentration into. Meaning we were ACTUALLY YET TO SEE what would've happened here if Ferdinand didn't stop her. If she would've used maybe a third? Half of her mana? Maybe she would've stopped then?
