I lucked out. Mine only gains (or sometimes loses) about 2-5 seconds a week. My Sarb017, on the other hand, gains about 15 seconds a day. Unlike you, I love the simple clean minimalism of Seiko’s white day/date windows, without the frame. Got a great deal and love mine for a daily beater.

Really nothing wrong with Seiko putting out a flawless, fabulous watch like this for $ 250. It makes spending $ 1000 or more really questionable for a many other pieces when you got this one already.

I have 4 Seiko automatics ..they are all iffy in terms of accuracy. Given their price point I love them, and I’m not concerned with beating the tar out of them. If you’re losing 20 seconds a day, you should be able to adjust it by popping the case off. I’ve spent 3 weeks on one of my Seiko 5 trying to get it “just right” ... I’m too cheap to buy a proper chronographer, so I will put up with 5 seconds a day loss.

I feel exactly the same, adjusting once a week isnt a big deal and the new models in the 5 sports line are really attractive watches for the price.

I ended up going with the king turtle version of this. Not for diving, but I was planning on replacing it with sapphire glass anyway. I also really wanted the screw down crown because it's easier for my fingers to twist it out than pull it straight out of the crown guard. I am going to miss this exhibition case back and the simple blue sunburst dial as it's not really available on the king turtle. The community and resources for modding these Seikos is strong though. You can do a lot with these things, which is probably the best part about owning a Seiko.

I got the Pepsi version. I got lucky only lose 20-30 seconds in a week, only wish it was gain not lost. Still phenomenal I’m in love with it. The only watches that can beat the value is orient and they are also owned by seiko.

I agree, however I don't wear a single watch for enough days in a row to notice. However when my isl-18 from Long Island watch was my only watch, also rocking a Seiko nh, it would lose plus or minus 30 seconds a week and it wasn't all that bad adjusting once or twice a month

@@GuardianMT yeah I’m one of those weird people obsessed with accuracy. Since my comment I regulated my seiko to plus 3 seconds a day. I practiced on my snk809 first and it’s a good thing because it now gains 10 minutes a day and I can’t fix it. Oops. Long Island watches are really awesome but I really wanted my dial to say seiko because I wanted to own a piece of their amazing horology. And I recently got the new version of the orient kamasu and it gets plus or minus 3 seconds and sometimes after a week it will actually still hold perfect time because it canceled itself out.

I own this exact watch. Like the drilled lugs, movement, indices, hands and the watch face. The bezel action is fine…pretty much the same as my SKX-009. The bezel insert is cheap, there should be a lume pip at the 12 o’clock and frankly, at this price, it should be ceramic. The bracelet is mediocre at best. I do like the 20mm width vs 22 aka Orient, however, it should taper down as it nears the clasp. I put the jubilee bracelet on it from my SKX and it was a vast improvement in looks and feel. If I keep this watch, I’ll buy a jubilee for it. Definitely like the ability to hand-wind, but how much would it have cost to make the crown screw down? Would I buy it again…not without a different bezel insert and better bracelet.

You can definitely get a better watch for your money. Especially from a micro brand. I have several watches with ceramic bezels, sapphire glass, milled clasps and screw down crowns that cost as much or less than this 5kx.

Hi... i have a question ... why some seikos are wrote mov't JAPAN like in your video and others have in the left down side the caliber 4R36- or something like that... do you know?

If the bezel was ceramic I'd already own it. My days of beat-up painted bezels are pretty much behind me. Great watch otherwise, but I'd have paid the extra $40 or so for ceramic.

I had this exact problem, send it in to seiko and they will warranty the repair at no cost ☺️

It's a 42mm so it may be a little large yes, I know long Island watch co makes a couple 39mm divers theat may be a better fit.
