SEIKO 6138-3002 Evaluation

I thinks this is a great watch and too often overlooked by Seiko collectors. I bought mine recently and can't stop wearing it. Its my new favourite at the moment.

I realize this is an old video, but a small correction, the 6138 watch is the better movement than the 6139 because it has manual wind, and day/date quick set, but it pulls out to 1st position to set day/date, and of course 2nd position to set the time. So no pushing, and it’s dead reliable.

I have the same watch.I bought it about 20 years ago from a small jewellers who said it was an uncollected repair.I think I paid £45 uk.it's a 1974 model and has quite a heavily marked crystal.it's all there though and works fine although it does run a little fast.it's had quite a hard life before I've had it so it's had a very easy time with me as a very occasional wear,to be honest when i first saw it in the shop i thought it was an omega speedmaster,but i bought it anyway.

Bargain! Crystals can be bought but depending on the model they are either expensive or cheap.

@@hal0eight unfortunately he hasn’t. I’m in the same boat and I’m amazed how given how much these watches are selling for now, that nobody has made a bracelet for it.

replacement hard to find? Seiko still has NOS Crystal for this model. Sent mine in half a year ago...

No they don't. The crystal is made by Sternkreuz as an aftermarket part. The catch is they don't supply the metal ring attached to the crystal, so you need to remove the old crystal and glue in the replacement part.
