Both very nice watches but the price diffrence is unreal.

Great side-by-side comparison! I love both of theses watches, but I think that you nailed it: The Willard is more "elegant" and "refined". Couldn't have said it better myself. I have a regular blue Turtle, and hope to own a Willard one day (any version, be it original 6105 or reissue). I prefer the handset & indices of the Willard, but damn that 'Grenade Dial' on your King Turtle is awesome. Both cases are literally perfect, albeit with the Willard case being more refined. What really surprised me is the fairly significant amplitude disparity between the two watches. 280 vs. 230! That's a pretty wide gap, and just slightly troubling for such an expensive watch. Overall, value for money, I gotta give the edge to the Turtle. Great video! I really enjoyed that!

I prefer King Turtle over Captain Wilard. The consistent "waffle" dial with bezel is just nice. I like the green as well. King Turtle really feels like a turtle. The crown guard of Captain Willard feels absurd. Function-wise they are almost identical.

I like the comparison to the novice they won't understand price difference but there is a collectible factor also. I have a black dial king turtle but my alignment is kinda bad but I'm happy with it for $350

Great comparison! Went with the king Turtle 2nd hand less than $300 was a bargain. That Willard is awesome. I’d go 2nd hand on that too. Can be had $700-$850 range.

I mean. I just don’t see the value of almost $4k over $595msrp of the king turtle which is mostly gotten for mid $450. The movement just isn’t that much more accurate with its 1 second a day more or less. The Willard reinterpretation you’re paying the msrp which is fairly high for what you get comparably. To me this review just seems like the reviewer is reaching for reasons that the Willard is a better purchase than the turtle. Saying the lumes are brighter on the Willard and consistently saying the Willard is a more expensive watch. lol. The turtle watch for watch just is the all around better watch. A more reasonably price for that Willard would be $1300-$2000 max for what Seiko is offering. But that limited edition factor comes into play. The new black series Willard coming out at $3300 is at the least a better priced watch and comes closer to where it should be msrp.

I have the green King Turtle - accuracy is really good - loses 4 secs on the wrist but gains about 5 secs at night when placed face up. The Willard is cool of course and I prefer the hands on it - but value for money of the King Turtle can't be beat. I have 2 Steeldives both with great accuracy so I don't miss the Willard really - and I like having day/date and prefer the cyclops magnifier too. But both great watches.

Nice review and comparison. I have a regular black PVD Turtle that I got new for less than $230. It has been ~+1 second per day. It also has dual color lume. For the money it is a lot of watch. I never liked the Willard because of the crown setup and what I see as under-sized hands in comparison to the hour markers. I am sure Seiko will sell at lot of the Willards anyways.Another great video!

This time Time Grapher is just for video purposes, these watches have all been checked and adjusted in five positions at inventory Adjusters. So everything is always going to be spot-on and accurate.
