Seiko Metronome: A Tool Watch for Musicians?

A tool watch for musicians? I look at the SMW006A today.

Really nice the way the hands move back to time telling. Gorgeous looking watch but a touch too small; 38-39mm would be ideal even for manly wrists.

I am considering this silver dialed variant, but I’m concerned about the legibility compared to the matte of the others. Would you say you’ve had any issues with glare and legibility when using it as a watch, or when propping it up on a table or something for using the metronome feature?

Yes, legibility is an issue. The lack of contrast can make it hard in some lighting. The bigger issue for me is that the hour hand is confusing and there is no printed minute track. All this together makes for a watch that is not readable for me with a quick glance

Thank you for the response! :) I’ve been looking at this watch for a while, and one little trick I’ve found for reading the time is to ignore the “needle” part of the hands all together, and just pretend the hollow inner parts ARE the hands. That makes it a lot easier to discern which hand is which at a glance, cuz the hour hand is shorter and wider. Though it doesn’t help much with the minute track issue as you said. Might have to consider the SMW006a, though that one is more pricey!
