I just got this for Christmas (2019), but the wife has "seized" it till Christmas morning :( Most who dive will immediately appreciate the tension between certification agencies since PADI is by far the biggest, but many other agencies claim to be better for a host of reasons. As a PADI instructor, I am biased, and would suggest many in the dive industry would not buy this watch merely because of the animosity among the other agencies. That aside, this watch is really beautiful; the combinations of red, white, and blue, coupled with the accents of blue accents on the side, the higher quality crystal - band materials, and the overall presence is striking. Also, while it appears like it would look like a manhole portal on one's wrist, it is surprisingly well proportioned for someone like me, large hands and narrow wrists. Just like in the video, I struggled briefly with the kinetic power meter functions until I found out the crown was screwed in, and had to be fully unscrewed. Other than that, I cannot wait to get it on my arm. The only sad thing is I love Seiko's analog divers' watches, but with all the tech out there for diving (e.g. the Garmin Descent), it is hard to give up the tech for the beauty. The "smart" dive watches cannot hold a candle to these beauties in the appearance arena. Thanks for the review; it helped me in making the decision to buying one.

I got a chance to see this watch back in September, and WOW, I was impressed. Though it was on sale, still expensive for what it is slightly below MSRP. After waiting and price watching, I was able to pull the trigger today after finding a pretty good deal. Can't wait to get it into the collection here, as I think it really hits the sweet spot for a non automatic, built extremely well.

WOW... i have to say it is a fine looking watch... big yes but it is so well done that i just love this thing...colors are spot on, I have tried 3 other watches lately and sent all of them back... just not the right color or feel. this one is just right. Silicone strap is very comfortable, one of the best straps i ever had, only "bad" thing about the strap is that is really long, because it is made to be used over diving suit. As for a nato strap, you will need a 24 mm wide strap, if that is what you are asking. Here is mine on a nato. postimg.org/image/tjmbhn04b/

You are welcome. Even though i am more into automatic watches, this is one of my favourite watches, wear it almost every day. It just has that way to make you smile. Dial is beautifull, lume is crazy bright, nothing can touch Seiko Lumibrite, and even though it is a big watch, it wears smaller and comfortable because of it case shape and short lugs. Now i only need to find that elusive white lady (SUN043) to make a pair. :)

Just got one today. It looks like if you remove the 3 screws on the "shroud" the watch drops down out of the shroud and bracelet instead of the shroud coming up off and leaving an intact watch like every tuna video I've seen. I can't find a video of removing the screws on this model.

great watch. when i got my padi turtle i nearly went for this but it was just a bit too chunky to wear everyday. but at an extra $200 bucks its worth it. sapphire crystal also, the turtle is hardlex.

If I absolutely HAD to choose, I would pick the SRPA21 PADI Turtle:) I really love the way it looks with a NATO strap AND OTHER STRAPS. The SUN065 is a little top-heavy when you try to do a NATO otherwise it's a brilliant watch. Thanks friend! Generally limited-editions tend to be very small numbers of pieces sometimes, only 1000 pieces or less and might be limited to one country. Special editions can be many more pieces and they might be made for more than one region also ,so the value might not be as high. BUT over time depending on how many are left on the market, special editions can go up in value. Cheers😊

Has anyone any experience swapping a stainless steel band onto the SUN065? I love the watch but would prefer the ss band thats on the SUN019 (which I just found out has been discontinued by Seiko in NA). Any after-market straps (brand/model) that will fit the SUN065?

Hello! I believe the SUN065 and SUN019 share the same case design so you could swap them out without a problem if you can find an OEM bracelet. Also, i've had great success using a solid link strapcode super jubilee on my PADI turtle. Perhaps one of their other lines would fit the SUN065. I think the super engineer model is one, it's a straight bar at the lug, so it will not fit up against the curve of the case, but from what I understand it still looks pretty good...I'm not 100 percent. Might make sense to check out their site😉 I bought the Strapcode super jubilee on Amazon, hope that helps! cheers thanks for watching😊

Depends where you're buying it from. Once the supply gets low it'll probably be around there going forward. I've heard some of people getting it for around 700 to 750 maybe 800 USD max... 900 I believe is a high price. Thanks for watching:) cheers

camaro Carl: When unscrewed, if pushed when the second hand is at the 12 o’clock position it will cause the second hand to jump forward to a certain position on the dial. That dial position indicates how much charge is left in the battery.

I have to ask, and surely I'm not the first one, but what's with the gloves? I have seen people handle pre-Columbian artifacts with white gloves, but not a $500 watch. I'm sure there is some valid explanation, and I assure you that I am not trolling you. I'm a watch junkie and have been into watches my whole life, and have never handled an 18K Submariner with gloves, let alone something like my twin to this Seiko or my Citizen Altichron.
