The fact that we are even comparing the SPB453 to a watch that costs much more, makes the 453 the clear winner IMO.

I guess you are paying a lot more for the more accurate movement and the logo on the dial when going with the Tudor... and the titanium, of course.

I mean, you could also compare an Orient dive watch to the Tudor - that doesnt make the Orient the winner lol.

As an SPB455 owner I would say my biggest gripe is how poor the AR coating is on the watch, and how cloudy/occluded it can look from certain angles. Lots of shots in this vid highlight the problem. Also, they've recessed the crown into the case slightly vs my previous gen SPB253. Whilst this is ostensibly an improvement, it does make it slightly harder to screw/unscrew the crown (it's not a daily wearer). Accuracy is very erratic depending on mainspring torque, which is annoying and a bugbear they still haven't fixed on the 6R mvmts all these years later. The date window is so small as to be largely pointless now. Why even bother? The bracelet is better and I've managed to get a very comfy fit on mine, but the divers ext is still god awful and needs to go. You also have to push very hard to get the clasp to engage the pinion. On the upside, it's a very comfy daily wearer, everything is well aligned, bezel and dial are nicely finished, diashield gives it a smokier / titanium look, and we now get a 3y warranty in the UK. It's a decent toolish diver for £1.4k considering all the retail and marketing overhead they have. I wouldn't consider a Tudor at 3x the price something I'd want to wear doing DIY or high diving, good though it no doubt is.

Finally someone did a review 😄 The P39 is a long term goal for me. The SPB453 is much more attainable at this point in my life. I’ve always thought if I got the Seiko now and the P39 later, would either watch would be redundant in the collection?

Both look nice but no on-the-fly adjustment for a £1200 watch is a joke and a deal breaker for me since I use the T-fit quite often during the day. Even microbrands that cost £200 nowadays have sliding adjustments in the clasps.
